2. Fourteen of those responses provided opinion but no data.
3. Eighteen responses provided information concerning the

i don't do a watch grid sheet anymore, I just use this sheet which tells me when everything starts, what the window of the previous game on that channel was, and then on the same sheet the auto-filled commands to start recording radio of every game that starts at that time

column A: kickoff time in ET
B: network
D: away team
E: home team
then a bunch of things auto-filled from the master sheet of radio feeds, then a command, and then a conditionally formatted countdown of how far away that is in hours and minutes, with it being green with more than an hour, etc, and then next to THAT how much time elapses between the previous game on that network

this is the rest of the sheet showing a compilation of all games that start at a given time catted into one single command which then runs interactive shells

finally ran it down & counted, this aired at LEAST 20 times on local breaks on my ESPN this past saturday She is a Republican running for State Senate, a chamber Republicans have controlled for more than 30 years. Literally everything she complains about in this ad is her own party's doing.

I don't know who this clown is but way too many of you follow someone who knows so little about how vehemently Rand Paul opposed this bill (on usual Rand Paul grounds) and claims Rand Paul would have voted for it if Democrats had their shit together

Too few minorities in sports management, panel asserts
Clinton's 2nd town hall meeting
on race highlights athletes' gains

HOUSTON-Giving a sharper
focus to his national dialogue on
race, President Clinton on Tues-
day urged Americans to look to
the world of sports as an example
of how individuals of different
races can join in a common effort.
"It is important that people see
that in athletics in America that
the rules are fair, that people get
their fair chance," Clinton said in
leading off a 105-minute nationally
televised discussion on the role of
race in sports.
An avid fan of college basket-
ball and major professional
sports, Clinton said that if profes-
sional sports want more minority
coaches but cannot find them,
"then there's something wrong
with recruitment."
The meeting, broadcast live on
ESPN, was the second of Clinton's
three planned nationally televised
town hall meetings on race. The
first was in Akron in December.
The 11-member panel discussed
several topics but returned often
to the relative shortage of minori-
ties in top sports-management
jobs.
Georgetown University basket-
ball coach John Thompson said
blacks must be given more oppor-
tunities, even if they are not seen
as sure-fire successes right away.
"I'm sick of us having to be per-
fect to get the job," Thompson
said. But Thompson took excep-
tion when former Cleveland
Browns running back Jim Brown
also suggested that black college
stars turn to black agents in
launching their professional
sports careers. Thompson's agent
is David Falk, who is white.
"I find it very difficult to fire
David Falk because the pigmenta-
tion in his skin is white, besides
the fact that he is competent and
he is my friend," Thompson said.
He added: "I am very sensitive
to the fact of what Jim is saying,
but how far do you go? Do I pick
a black dentist? Do I pick a black
lawyer?"
Joe Morgan, a member of base-
ball's Hall of Fame, said baseball
has made only small progress.
While noting that some of the
greatest players in baseball his-
tory are black, "once they're fin-
ished, there is no place for them
to go" in the sports business, he
said.
Morgan said baseball has failed
to aggressively recruit talent in
urban black areas. One reason for
that, he said, is a lack of black
scouts for major-league teams.

"I think that's wrong," he said.
Clinton said he was optimistic
that talking about race in the con-
text of sports can help the nation
deal with broader racial issues.
"America, rightly or wrongly, is
a sports-crazy country," he said.
"And we often see games as a
metaphor or symbol of what we
are as a people."
Black men have found enor-
mous success in American sports.
Many of the best marketed and
highest paid professional athletes,
such as basketball's Michael Jor-
dan and baseball's Ken Griffey Jr.,
are black. Yet certain glamor posi-
tions, such as quarterback in pro-
fessional football, are dominated
by whites.
Hispanics are making a growing
impact in major-league baseball,
where they make up 24 percent of
all players, compared to 17 per-
cent for blacks, according to
Northeastern University's Center
for the Study of Sport in Society.
The Houston program featured
other sports luminaries: Key
shawn Johnson, a wide receiver
for the New York Jets; and five-
time Olympic track medalist
Jackie Joyner-Kersee. Also on the
program were Carmen Policy,
president of the San Francisco
49ers, and San Diego Padres
owner John Moores.
Clinton's first town hall meeting
on race, at Akron, covered a wide
range of topics. His hope in Hous-
ton was to narrow the focus to
sports in a way that would engage
Americans who might not other-
wise want to discuss race issues.
Policy said the National Foot-
ball League is more aggressively
addressing race issues.
"We are really on the verge of
throwing tokenism out the win-
dow," Policy told reporters before
the town hall meeting.
In Houston, the forum's makeup
angered Latino activists who com-
plained that too few Hispanics
were represented. Felipe Lopez, a
basketball star at St. John's Uni-
versity, was the only Hispanic on
the 11-member panel. ESPN added
Lopez after a Latino group wrote
to Clinton to protest.
ESPN reportedly had invited
numerous Hispanic sports figures,
who declined for various reasons.
He said the White House was sat-
isfied with the final group. "It is a
good panel bringing a wide vari
ity of opinions and experiences."
