I recently got a similar headhunter email summarizing my LinkedIn profile job history and some skills I have listed in a sort of conversational tone. I seem to recall they said they were impressed at my mastery of yaml (something I had added as a joke).

Revealing people’s phone numbers was called “dropping digits” by hackers I knew back in the day. Agreed though.

The original definition was linking someone’s anonymous online identity to their real identity. There’s nothing straightforward about how the definition has changed since to include everything from identifying a police officer by name to dropping someone’s phone number like this.

Irony is already dead. This is just overkill.
What I did find in Dracula, though, was the newly launched Character Guide feature, which tracks the speaking character in real time and offers an information card with details about the performer playing the role. It’s all on the player page, minimizing distractions.

The character guide feature is now available for George Orwell’s 1984 and will be part of Audible’s upcoming original audiobook Exoplanet, written by Benjamin Percy and executive-produced by Project Hail Mary author Andy Weir. Audible plans to expand this feature to let listeners interact with the guide and ask questions as the story progresses.

For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing
Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.

Not all of us had this mythical shared sense of monoculture before the internet got a steely grasp on everyone’s media consumption. I never watched Big Brother or America’s Got Talent or Breaking Bad or the damn Olympics. I’ve been happy in my bubble for as long as I’ve been choosing what I consume.

My take on this “do you know the number one streaming song in the U.S. in 2026” discourse. Some of us have barely known what the top 10 songs were our whole lives, especially those of us in subcultures. There are songs from the late 00s and 2010s I’m told were massive global hits that I never heard.

The example here is this kid bouquet from the informal Scattered Spider collective: “images from Facebook and Snapchat suggest Stokes traveled to Paris, Italy, Spain, Germany, New York, Florida, New Mexico, Thailand, and Dubai, and stayed in multiple luxury hotels, between 2024 and 2025”

If members of the group are well hidden enough and prepared to continue hiding indefinitely then an informant may not be a problem. Shouldn’t assume that the authorities don’t already have a pretty good idea as to who is in the group but lacks actionable intel on where they are.

Only issue I see is that the victim here was in the Netherlands but the other statement says that the two intended victims were not. I guess we will have to wait and see, I had assumed that the hits would be on rivals or suspected informants relating to the group.

Two things can be true here I think, one is that there have been shinyhunters arrests before that don’t seem to have greatly affected the group or its operational capabilities, two is that hackers love to become informants when the FBI & U.S. prisons are looming. www.lemonde.fr/en/pixels/ar...
