Multiple "Blossom" inclusions, as there should be. 😍 #cdrama

Visiting my 40th state this week. That's right, I have 80%-ed this shit. Pretty sure for the final boss I have to fight the Statue of Liberty or something. USA! USA! USA! 🇺🇸 🗽🥊

Rewatched #RainlessLoveInAGodlessLand. It's so thematically rich, so densely packed w/spiritual & philosophical ponderings that I ended up taking about 10 pgs of notes trying to organize my thoughts. Every time I hear 'Orad get told he is not a lie but a wish, I cry. #asiandrama #taiwandrama #cdrama

It's funny we're talking about this now, when the other big topic on my TL is that silly NYT 'best TV of the century' list someone described as "Serious Male Canon." ☺️ I started watching Asian dramas not because of purity culture, but because I wasn't getting what I wanted narratively anywhere else.

The OTT violence was why I dropped "Death's Game," despite my deep, deep ♥️ for Seo In-guk.

It's funny you say that because I've been thinking a lot lately about Korean and Chinese national conversations on declining birth rate, while at the same time celebrity dating is frowned on/outright prohibited and most romantic dramas keep things pretty chaste. (This is reductive, I know.)

I don't actually need a sex scene if you give me lots of deep hugs and intense forehead kisses. (Bonus points if one or both partners are wearing super cozy looking sweaters that you wanna sink into and cuddle for a month.)

I've been watching more #cdrama lately and there have been great examples of characters acting like real, actual human people in love. Affectionate touches, smiles and giggles, kisses that don't feel contractually required. "First Frost," "Love Between Lines," "Will Love in Spring," etc.

That was my runner up example! There is that one night when he thinks he's about to go back north and never see her again. They get drunk and talk about how all they want is to be married, have babies and grow old together...then presumably part company with a lingering but respectful handshake. 😆

Ben_Solo_Good_Boy_Sweater_Emporium @bsgbse.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Had to find this because it makes me laugh every time I watch. This is their *wedding night.* The only dialogue is her saying, "I'm sleepy," and him responding, "Good night." It's so aggressively vanilla it's almost confusing to the viewer. Is soulmate love too pure to consummate or something? 😆

Scene from iconic 2016/17 #kdrama "Goblin" (a.k.a. "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God") in which a man and woman are lying on a bed while the man stroke the woman's hair. Both are wearing pajamas and the woman is almost entirely covered by the duvet.

And "morning after" scenes where they wake up in matching twee pajama sets or are cashmere sweaters in bed, LOL. Like, we get it, you don't want us to think about what they did last night but COME ON!

I love #asiandramas. One of my only dislikes is what I call the "fish kisses." We're told 2 characters are soul mates but when they kiss one--almost always the woman--stands there stock-still with arms locked, eyes open, mouth flat, totally unresponsive. Ugh. I hate it so, so much.

And she's the star employee of Mountain Travel, guiding seekers of nature while sharing Amis beliefs/stories. ('Orad of course describing himself as a "form of existence" found "in the mountains and the sea.") She got herself a job that lets her be a sort of amateur sikawasay. 🥰 #taiwandrama #cdrama

I actually cannot believe #BTS flew all the way from South Korea to do four songs in that atrocious excuse for a "music festival." They gave it everything they had--they always do--but the production was absolutely abysmal from start to finish. The audio was terrible, the staging was lifeless, ugh.

I do realize that. I tagged it that way because the original post was so tagged, I assume for a similar reason, namely to put it in the #cdrama feed. And perhaps because the predominant language spoken in the drama is Mandarin. The tag was not meant as a political statement or erasure in any way.

I'll just add that the first time I watched on Hulu and there were multiple episodes where the audio was slightly out of sync with the video. The second time I watched on iQiyi and the experience was better in every way.

Oh, I get it, believe me. But ever since TLJ, the Disney corporation has delivered me nothing but one crushing disappointment after another. A HFBS that ended with a parting platonic handshake to appease six angry male YouTubers might be the thing that sends me to the bell tower.

While Bly was circling the globe in 1889, she was actually racing against another female reporter going in the opposite direction, Elizabeth Bisland. There's a good book about it.

If you have a list of products you don't purchase any more, you might want to watch this video and go ahead and add Driscoll's fruit to it. Side note: I had to go to four different grocers before I could even find a place that sold *anything* other than Driscoll's.

I can't find the screenshot I kept so I sincerely apologize to the brilliant wit that crafted my all-time favorite social media post, which went: "Dolly Parton wrote 'Jolene' and 'I Will Always Love You' in a single afternoon and I have been 'getting ready' to vacuum for a week."

The reason to subscribe to #Viki IS the volunteer-crafted subtitles. They are BY FAR better than any other platform. They offer historical context, explain idiomatic expressions & wordplay, and even translate OST lyrics playing in the background. Switching over to AI is total idiocy. I want to cry.

Tinfoil Hat Theory Time: Did Adam actually *bribe* Disney into making HFBS by finally agreeing to their years-long pleading to make a crap MCU movie? Is this just the next phase of his cunning plan after the coordinated leaks about the failed pitch process? #reylo
