Screenshot of my GitHub profile and what I've been working on these days. Progress is slow, sometimes frustratingly so. But it's still progress. Need to get more stuff into a 1.0 version and promote that then. #webdev #buildinpublic

Great video! I was thinking, what if windows became smaller versions to the side, and clicking into one swaps it with that is currently in the center? Making it easy to see current state and swap between them.

Can recommend this setup: Currently using GPT 5.6 Sol (Medium or high thinking) for planning and implementation. Then GLM 5.3 for reviewing. Using Zed (the IDE) for managing multiple sessions, the Codex harness for GPT and the Zed Agent panel for GLM. Using VSCode for manual changes. #webdev

AI coding tools are incredibly helpful. I wrote about what works well for me: one chat per feature / request, a small AGENTS.md, specific file references, plan mode then implement mode, and reviewing the generated code. bryanhogan.com/blog/ai-code-well

I was working on a web app of mine and spent so much time debugging something that seems to be a very common Firefox issue instead? Making the keyboard appear and disappear on mobile (Android) shifts and skews the elements briefly. (I don't mean the slight shift, I mean severe jumping of elements)

Thanks for showing me these! I found a bit too many accessibility issues in them though, e.g. font feels too small sometimes and missing color contrasts. Main content in the blog layout feels too narrow. I like the SaaS theme, though my guide leans towards advocating against Tailwind CSS.

Everyone draws this (multi dimensional) line of what's too much "clickbait" somewhere else. I liked his take, don't mislead the viewer, show what they can expect, but still make them curious.

I think it's good to call it curiosity bait, which can be fair, to some degree, you want to make the potential viewer interested. Clickbait feels more towards the direction of misleading potential viewers. I like this video on this topic: youtu.be/S2xHZPH5Sng

Love Svelte! Using it for many (web) apps I'm building. Might be so high because there are many Svelte users on BlueSky, maybe? Also surprised to not see Astro in the top 4.

A microscopic annoyance that forever irks me is the discrepancies between the 'Get it on Google Play' and 'Download on the App Store' badges. I hate how they're so similar, yet fail to have any cohesion. They always look awful when placed together, and I cop psychic damage each time I see them.
A badge for Google Play and a badge for the App Store. They're similar at a first glance, but the longer they're inspected, the more tiny differences there are. Size of the badges and elements, alignment of type, fonts used, borders – everything!

I mean, marketing and promotion aren't the same thing. Deciding which user problem to solve is already part of marketing. It might be worth putting together a marketing plan, though this will naturally overlap with product design and iteration (Plan -> Build -> Test -> Repeat).

But automatically opening the daily note seems to be bugged? At least on my phone it doesn't create the new note automatically even though the option is on in the settings.

I mean that the UX added by the Starlight blog plugin is not that great. Starlight itself works well. Main problem with the plugin is that it does not communicate there being two different main states well, a good chance that the user assumes that the other mode doesn't exist. + Unclear how to swap

Yeah the plugin is cute but I wouldn't recommend it, I think the UX with it is not that great.

If you want full control I'd recommend Astro, with Astro Starlight you don't need any dev experience: starlight.astro.build (Slightly complex, usually used for doc pages) There's also BearBlog: bearblog.dev You could also look into Leaflet, although they have some issues like SEO: leaflet.pub

Nowadays I find AI also highly capable of writing Svelte code. Claude was good at it for a long time, Codex with the Svelte MCP works well also. Have been using it to build apps: bryanhogan.com/blog/web-to-... Want to try the OpenCode Go subscription and test out the cheaper Chinese models next.
