Screenshot of my GitHub profile and what I've been working on these days. Progress is slow, sometimes frustratingly so. But it's still progress. Need to get more stuff into a 1.0 version and promote that then. #webdev #buildinpublic

Can recommend this setup: Currently using GPT 5.6 Sol (Medium or high thinking) for planning and implementation. Then GLM 5.3 for reviewing. Using Zed (the IDE) for managing multiple sessions, the Codex harness for GPT and the Zed Agent panel for GLM. Using VSCode for manual changes. #webdev

I was working on a web app of mine and spent so much time debugging something that seems to be a very common Firefox issue instead? Making the keyboard appear and disappear on mobile (Android) shifts and skews the elements briefly. (I don't mean the slight shift, I mean severe jumping of elements)

Modernized the pages of my guide on writing clean CSS. Using a reset.css, var.css, global.css and util.css for consistent styling. Read them here: webdev.bryanhogan.com/css/css-setup/ Using this setup on my @astro.build Starter Template as well: starter.bryanhogan.com #webdev #buildinpublic

But automatically opening the daily note seems to be bugged? At least on my phone it doesn't create the new note automatically even though the option is on in the settings.

A large timer card shows “Ready?” and “05:00” with playback controls and the instruction “Click play to start timer.” Below it is a task list with editable fields for “Task 1” and “Task 2,” each set to 5 minutes, plus a third empty task set to 10 minutes. Buttons labeled “Reset Timer” and “Reset Tasks” appear underneath.

I think for consistency I will have to go with a vertical form layout, title first, form element in the next row. Putting small elements (e.g. checkboxes) next to the title feels inconsistent. But if I do stack all I'm using up a lot of vertical space.. Any ideas? #buildinpublic #webdev #dev

Obsidian is such a valuable tool. Using it for writing my blog posts, organizing my thoughts and research, as well as managing my projects. The files for all of these things live in one folder, building structure through links and .base files. #ObsidianMD #Obsidian #PKM

I would not advise that. The problem with platforms such as LinkedIn, Threads, etc. is that they quickly kill your reach if you link to other platforms. Since majority of engagement from there comes from the algorithm I'd be careful with that. But, I do also really like the concept of POSSE!

What I like to do currently is get example sentences for the words in my decks via AI. I made a ChatGPT project with many Korean resources attached and instructions to improve its output. I’m very pleased with the examples I get.

How I'm learning Korean 🇰🇷 I've been using Anki more again. It’s great for memorisation but kinda dry. Also, a pure Anki grind doesn't really help with application, which is the most important part of effective language learning. #languagelearning #korean #한국어 #한국어공부

Built an app to learn Hiragana. A gamified approach to that gradually introduces characters. As I'm currently in Osaka I can use my own app well :) Hoping to make learning Japanese more fun. 👉 app.tolearnjapanese.com #japanese #hiragana #buildinpublic #webdev #devlog #languagelearning #indiedev

Building an app to learn Korean words faster. Learning new words, in a more fun way that I actually stick with. Taking what I love about Anki and building on-top of that, e.g. gamification aspects like Duolingo. #Anki #한국어공부 #buildinpublic #webdev #devlog #edtech #languagelearning #indiedev

Obsidian or Notion? Both are powerful, but fit into different needs. #Obsidian is better if you value owning your data, offline functionality and deep customization. #Notion fits better if you need online collaboration, getting started quickly and its Database features.

One of my favorite ChatGPT instructions / projects I use for learning and improving my Korean. Often words are just combinations of other words or concepts. By understanding these building blocks, I can learn new words much faster and also better remember existing ones.

Removed the gradient background and using a flat color instead. Fixed vertical alignment on the next / prev buttons. Could make the tags into buttons with the same style as the optional social media references. Unsure what else could be done now. Current live version: bryanhogan.com/blog/obsidia...

Rebuilt the end-of-post section for my blog. Took much longer than I expected. Tried AI tools like Copilot and Claude Code, which are definitely helpful, but still decided to rewrite the HTML & CSS from scratch since anything generated was messy. Any ideas on how to improve the design?

Pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to run on Windows locally, no docker required. Could just install and run it, getting the API credentials took a bit but also not long. Now I could send this to me by e-mail, Telegram message, add to a Notion database, further process, or do whatever.

Just got into #n8n and it's amazing how much one could do with it. (It allows you to create automations between different tools). Just finished the example that takes a chat interface, ChatGPT and Google Calendar integration to tell you about upcoming events :) #ai

Always wondering if it's even worth posting on #BlueSky. It's like a black hole for anything I put on here. I don't want to stick to posting only one keyword either, but the algorithm isn't doing me any favors. Slightly educational or "productivity" content does much better elsewhere for me.
