I've struggled with "This is bad for art" being used to indirectly say "it can do code though!" A lot of good points in this. An alternative part of "the wedge" is we (as engineers) are repeatedly asked to implement this process to take jobs/skills/fulfillment from our friends.

Been thinking a lot about getting out of games given the state of things. I'd love to work for some environment non-profit but my skillset is so laser focused to gameplay programming that it is less than relevant. Anyone done something like this?

Its so cool that player builds in MoteMancer create this mandala effect due to the hex grid. Players in the discord are creating tile art. I always thought it was cool how Factorio factories end up looking like circuit boards.

People Make Games is such a great look into game dev. Watch and ask yourself if you think Rockstar fired them for saying "a game with 32 players in it" or if they were participating in forming a union. For me both seem ridiculous, but one seems more likely. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnui...

Nearly 30 years ago, the collapse of Japan's bubble economy engulfed the nation's financial institutions in mountains of bad debt, triggering a wave of corporate bankruptcies, a sudden and extreme rise in unemployment rates, and stagnation of Japanese society as a whole. We beat Split Fiction. The visual effects in the ending are so wonderful! It caused a little bit of motion sickness, which I don't get often. But... I can't remember the last time I said "that's so cool" so many times.
