Apparently over the past 365 days, I've logged the second most climbs on Kaya at both Berkeley Ironworks and Great Western Power Co. This is less about my climbing abilities (advanced beginner at best) and more about the fact that not enough people use Kaya, which is super helpful.

We keep doing this (broad definition of "we" here) and it keeps working. Close the streets to cars, or limit them significantly, and _people_ replace them. People spend money. People connect with other people. People generate new ideas when they bounce off one another. Cities are made of PEOPLE.

What I find laudable in Elon Musk, amid the many things I find not laudable in him, is the relentlessness with which he tries to achieve his goals. That guy believes in getting us to Mars and creating an electric vehicle transition and all the rest of it, and nothing else matters to him. He tries to create organizations that run through walls, and he actually does make tremendous things happen in the world.
