I had a wonderful conversation with Alejandro González Iñárritu about Digger, Legacy, and Lucha Libre. I didn't love Digger, but I enjoyed having it recontextualized in this conversation. Always fun to have that kind of chat. letterboxd.com/journal/alej...

Really cool lineup, but keep your eyes peeled for The Crying Man, Emily Bennett's killer new short. Great performances from Larry Fessenden and Toby Poser. I'm biased because @meltyfeelings.bsky.social worked on it as well (she's in it too!) but it's great stuff

I love it when a filmmaker goes into detail about how they pulled off certain set pieces. I won't lie, Director Na was a tough nut to crack. Don't think he wanted to reveal TOO much. Once we settled into the action though, he really opened up. Really cool stuff.

Why aren't you being asked to participate? Why aren't you being reached out to? Why is that person getting to do cool things? There are many material realities that exist in those scenarios, sure, but there's still a level of introspection that needs to happen at some point

I don't come on here much but scrolling through today and seeing a lot of discourse about being included/excluded and that's definitely something I've felt before. "why am I not getting this or that?" "why them?" You can only do so much of that before you kinda have to look inward

many people in nerd communities, film being the focus of this post specifically, would probably benefit from learning that you can, in fact, have friends offline. Going outside and making friends is a very real thing you can do. When you see others hanging out, it's generally because they're friends

Some other Romero stuff + My Bloody Valentine + the original escalator from JC Penny’s used in Dawn of the Dead. I went to this mall a million times in my life and never really thought it looked like the film anymore but Aimee took one step inside and was like “nope this is it”
