Confirmed this myself and was met with the depressing information that even in this extremely bizarre land of hallucinated Minecraft I still need to bring two forms of ID, because I am alive.

An official digital version of Disney Lorcana is finally being made (according to their Instagram). If it’s halfway decent it might be the only nudge I need to get back into the game. I’ve missed it but haven’t had the time to go to in-person events.

This is a really awesome thing. There are a handful of games where I had to ask, "Wait, *did* I play this? Did I finish it?" But I feel pretty well-rounded having been through the list, even though I apparently have around 40 historically important games to play. giantbomb.com/ogu

If you heard about @giantbomb.com’s Fishing Week and thought “But I’m not into video games that are for jocks and/or dads!”, might you be interested in a fishing game that is also an RPG? I spent a lot of time with Legend of the River King on the GBC as a kid, despite not liking the outdoors.

Played/journaled my way through Rillem by @zigorously.bsky.social over the weekend. It’s cool! Fun way to write a Myst-like journal in a Riven-like world. The only downside is that I am so, so bad at drawing, so my sketches were all disappointing. But that’s OK. chronicled-fox.itch.io/rillem

If nothing else, I know that Square has a pretty good track record of Final Fantasy games with cover art featuring a hot girl atop something that looks like a monster. So Resonance has a good chance of being good.

The Dally Weather is basically functioning like a screen-free Wordle replacement for me. The goal: Make the day’s weather pattern (getting the right squares into the right places on the grid) and also cover up every month and day other than today’s date. The right balance of relaxing vs. tricky.

I haven’t kept up a ton with the Stanley Cup playoffs since the Dallas Stars were knocked out, but apparently I should have been watching, because Reddit’s AI is telling me that the Stars somehow returned after elimination and beat the Avalanche in Game 7. I missed so much excitement!
Reddit’s “Context and What Happened” under the topic headline “Colorado Avalanche Facing Elimination”:

Colorado Avalanche Facing Elimination - Reddit
Snapshot
Context & What Happened
• Eliminated From Playoffs: The Avalanche were knocked out after losing to the Dallas Stars in 7 games. "That was the craziest period of hockey l've ever seen."
• Memorable Performances: Mikko Rantanen delivered a dramatic Game 7 hat trick that eliminated Colorado and stunned fans. "There's no bigger middle finger in sports than eliminating your former team in game 7 with a 3rd period hatty."
Fan Reactions & Tone
• Shock and Awe: Many called the game one of the wildest they've seen. "That is one of the most insane games I've ever seen"
• Painful Narrative: Fans highlighted the brutal scripting of Rantanen's hatty vs. his former team.
"Rantanen hatty in a game 7 vs Colarado... the
WWE couldn't have written a better script than that. Salt in the fuckin wounds bro."
• Individual Legacy Moments: Rantanen's performance was framed as a defining legacy moment. "Rantanen legacy game"

My son found my Legend of Zelda Game & Watch (the modern anniversary one) and played a bit of Link’s Awakening. I told him about the Switch remake and he’s on the second dungeon of that (albeit with a lot of help from me). He wanted me to read him the OoT manga before bed. Then he drew me this.

Ah yes, this will only help us in the fight to gain readers’ trust, especially when many of those readers only read headlines they see.
Excerpt from the article: For example, Google reduced our headline "I used the 'cheat on everything' Al tool and it didn't help me cheat on anything" to just five words: "Cheat on everything' AI tool." It almost sounds like we're endorsing a product we do not recommend at all.

I love that Nintendo's 2025 wrapup lets you go all the way back to 2017, though apparently the time I spent with the original Switch before the online servers were on is (understandably) in a black hole. It was basically only Breath of the Wild anyway.

My favorite 2025 activity wrap up so far comes from @retroachievements.org, because of course it does. GBA is king, apparently.
Congratulations Talebearer!
In 2025, you played 118 games on retroachievements.org and unlocked 822 achievements, earning you 4423 hardcore points. You submitted new scores for 219 leaderboards.
You spent 186 hours playing games across 20 systems. 35 hours and 21 minutes of that were playing Game Boy Advance games.
You mastered 11 games, and beat an additional 15 games on hardcore.
Your most played game was
Kirby's Star Stacker at 16 hours and 49 minutes.
Your rarest achievement earned was Holier Than
Swiss Cheese from ChuChu Rocket!, which has only been earned in hardcore by 4.17% of players.
