There's a system that will help me in one of the jobs I do, access has been given to my manager, she's 'too busy' to look at it, it's too expensive for me to have access as well, she's emailed me to email someone to get an update, and lo everyone's time gets wasted.

We all know now that a referendum is legally binding so I say build a big fence, put border controls in place and treat all 328 of them as self governing. No financial support. No access to anything outside of the fence - including jobs - without the proper visas. They can have their independence.

My male friend who exists in some sort of fantasy world has gone off in a strop because I spent time with my big ex at the weekend. I expect I'll hear from him again because nothing seems to get through on a permanent basis. However big ex may not be entirely ex these days so I'm not losing sleep.

My GP has been great so not a criticism of them but menopause & HRT is just awful isn't it. It works brilliantly when it works but tweak it or try something different and it's straight back to square 1. Those symptoms are just lurking there waiting to jump out & get you.

My first food bank team leader training day went well & luckily we had some tricky things to deal with so I got some practice of what to do when things don't go to plan. I fell less worried about being in charge than I did!

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. Trains are cancelled again due to heat again so I find myself WFH instead of in a lovely air conditioned office. I've made a joke in the team chat about heatwaves affecting my days in the office stats to pre-empt getting into trouble for not being in enough. Ridiculous isn't it.
