Ottawa's final advance-voting numbers are in: 27,553 ballots over four days (Oct 1–4). That's 75% more than 2018 (15,754) and just 1,416 short of 2022's record (28,969). Woot!

@brigittepellerin.bsky.social I hadn't really heard of this mayor candidate but he has more signs than Sutcliffe and Leiper by this polling place in Orléans. (On other side of road.) I saw no Lawson or Saravanamuttoo signs.
Amjad Syed for mayor in foreground. Ward 1 candidate in middle. Sutcliffe for mayor sign in distance. The Sutcliffe sign is a typical lawn sign not a larger size.

Brigitte Pellerin @brigittepellerin.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
Day 3 numbers are in: **5,889** ballots cast yesterday. That puts the three-day total at **19,467** — already past 2018's entire four-day special advance (15,754), with today still to go. Against 2022's four-day total of 28,969, you'd need about 9,500 today to match it.

It’s pretty cool that Elections Ottawa publishes stats day by day. We don’t have those for 2022 or 2018, but we can say that the total after two days in 2026 (13,578) is 86% of 2018’s entire four-day advance polling (15,754) and a little under half of 2022’s four-day total (28,969). I like it.
