Are you using a coding agent? Ever wanted to check in on it when you're on the move? On a personal level, I use a devbox with opencode and then connect to the web interface over Tailscale!

Thank you for explaining! Do you mind DM'ing me the name of the tailnet or your email and I'll see if I can see anything happening that we don't expect?

Hey Amy. I lead the customer facing teams at Tailscale, I'm really sorry you had such a poor experience 😔 The default ACL for a tailnet when it is created is an allow all policy (tailscale.com/docs/referen...) so this feels like a bug What change did you need to make here to get this working?

I hear you, it's unfortunately the first I'm hearing of this so would love to chase down what happened here. You wouldn't actually need to reduce usage, just transition to storing state across client restarts which is relatively simple if your use-case can support it

Anyone who's NOT English care to venture a guess why I'm so upset at this graphic from @winespectator.bsky.social ?

Lee Briggs @brig.gs · 11/06/2026
Interestingly, this price change was actually driven by engineering, not sales. See above on the netmap caching stuff

Lee Briggs @brig.gs · 11/06/2026
This is not the experience we want people to have, if you're open to sharing more details I'd be happy to chase this down internally

Lee Briggs @brig.gs · 11/06/2026
This might seem really strange, but it does have a good reason for it - ephemeral nodes are incredibly intensive on our backend due to constant netmap calculations. There are solutions for this that aren't as expensive, and i'd be happy to walk you through them

hey! I lead the customer engineering team at Tailscale. I just read the thread, and I'm really sorry you're having such a poor experience with the team. I'll reply to some of the specifics from the thread, but wanted to let you know we're here to try figure out a solution

I can assure you, we definitely care and we're genuinely sorry for the poor experience you're having. Happy to connect you with the product team to see if we can improve things. I'll also happily send you a doordash voucher to make up for the 4 hours of lost time, I'm sure @bradfitz.com won't object

are you talking about funnel? Tailscale's basic tunnels are not really supposed to be short lived and only funnel is designed to share something to the wider internet. Would love to clear up any misconceptions here

hey! Tailscale employee here! The reason for this is we don't want to store user passwords. We support any identity provider that supports OIDC, there's a list here: tailscale.com/kb/1240/sso-...

I don’t think my I’d claim that PLG negates the need for advocacy, I think in an ideal world having both is the optimal solution. The reality I’m trying to put across is that in a world driven my metrics and figures and measurable outcomes, PLG is easier to choose
