CMAT was right, Sheeran surrounded himself with people who gave him bad advice and are were just nodding to the money trail. Let’s not rock the boat. Krafts stadium is an empty stadium without the artist.

I find that most modern conspiracy theories come with an evangelical mode and an attack mode. So it’s not just innocent belief they are encouraged to spread it and attack those who reject it.

For the satellite event, why is a telegram account needed?

Remember when ships were able to sail from Ukraine to feed the third world, in particular? Guess where the first ships turned up and it wasn’t to feed humans.

Let’s say 350e a night. I would estimate that as 13 rooms per week. Doesn’t seem crazy if it’s across all services.

Is the “hybrid” working arrangements three days dead and two alive of the other way around? Or is it a heaven and hell situation?

I honestly believe it will be a terrible development for the city. It double downs on car domination of the public realm, you can imagine the half baked work on pavements. Probably some Airbnb style charging scheme will appear with everyone getting in on the act.

Brian D @brianedaly.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
A solution may be some sort of community owned public charging facilities that would have better rates. A downside to private wires is that public charging points may diminish.

Brian D @brianedaly.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
It!s a steal and I doubt if many pay the €400 high demand permit fee. But private wires EV charging will justify permit increases.
000
Brian D @brianedaly.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Also assumes that parking permits stay at their ridiculously low cost. €400 is the most you pay at present in high demand areas. What if it went to 1k or 2k a year or more?

I would agree with public hubs that could be situated off street or on suitable streets. I am in favour of EVs but not in favour of private wires which would effectively privatise public spaces.

Brian D @brianedaly.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
If there is no street permits or P&D then a car could be left there indefinitely as long the owner says it is still in use. With street permits, holders can park anywhere on the street indefinitely. Even only temporarily if would prevent a person charging at that time.

Brian D @brianedaly.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
But it is based on the idea that home charging would be cheaper than public charging which may not be the case in the future. At the end of the day it is a public street and the council may be use to do something else with it - pedestrianise it, bus lane. Cycle lane …

Brian D @brianedaly.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Problem is that other people would be entitled to park there. Somebody could park there for weeks at at a time.

Brian D @brianedaly.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
I can’t see private wires happening. It would create a right to street space outside your house. Anyway it’s all relying on the status quo that household EV charging will remain cheap or cheaper compared with public charging.

Funny, I thought the caddy solution wasn’t a bad one. We aren’t in D7 but do use bags. The push is coming from the collectors who prefer wheelie bins.

I can never understand the “facility fee”. What is it? Have they not rented the hall already?

Step in the right direction. AirPods and similar are an environment disaster. A product with a short life that contains three sealed batteries.

Irish plans to exempt processing of your data for AI from the GDPR are "not in line with the Charter of Fundamental Rights"; they amount to an "illegal change of primary law"; they "exempt AI from the guarantees in the Treaties and render them largely meaningless". Damning, from the leading expert.

We should start with replacing CEOs with AI just on the cost savings alone - salary, share options, travel … I mean AI would be more personable then the MCDonalds lad for a start.

Govt to remove environmental screening for developments
The Government is expected to remove the need for environmental assessments for housing developments of up to 250 units by the end of the month in a bid to speed up house building.

Totally agree. Ultimately the objective is to reduce speed rather than catching people.

it is also extremely revealing that, a generation later, the Orange Order are still intent on marching down a road where they are unwelcome. they have learnt nothing, they have matured not a jot, every day of peace and tranquility has been entirely wasted on them #garvaghy #drumcree #speirgorm

Clearly writing the words Palestine Action is a major threat to society unlike hundreds of men in balaclavas taking over a couple of towns, threatening first responders and slashing boats at sea …

I believe the put up a set the advance warning signs. You know the ones that have the black instead of red rings on the speed limits. Map providers and councils should be getting their updated.

Britain would do well to start with EU agreements like there are with Norway. They seem to treat any possible arrangement as some sort of betrayal.

I don’t think that this should just be shrugged off. One of our Ministers (Enterprise or Justice, probably) has presented this plan. It isn’t an anonymous creature called the Irish Presidency. That is our Government.

The €1bn spent on fossil fuel sinces April would have put 8kw battery & solar on 100,000 homes buying them energy freedom for 20+ years. The €1bn+ that will be spent over the next few months would bring that to 250,000 homes. What we lack is will and vision
