It really drives home how often anime will hide characters' mouths when you try to do a Mylo The Cat-style cartoon rap lip sync video with something you'd consider a high effort TV anime...

Pandorobo (bread thief), and Nise-Pandorobo (his impostor) are on displays at JR Ikebukuro Station until 4 October, ahead of the anime's 2 October premiere. Based on Keiko Shibata's picture books, it follows a mouse disguised as a loaf of bread, searching for the world's tastiest bread.

This week's Akane-banashi does the sort of thing that some Jump+ manga will casually do with colour (i.e. Marshal King, Hero Organization), but you rarely see with the print Jump strips. It's very effective.

A graffiti mural on a large canvas in an empty display space. The centrepiece is a powerful-looking red and white robot with an X-shaped metal crosspiece on its face. The robot is from the 1980 Japanese puppet series created by Go Nagai, X-Bomber (known in English as Star Fleet).

I have to share my sayolara nerding with the world. I got to this part in episode 9, and got jumpscared by ncbi BLAST, a tool for comparing DNA, RNA and protein sequences to a massive database. So ofc I had to go onto the real blast and check out a couple of these sequences to see what they were

A screenshot from goodbye Lara showing someone holding a tablet with ncbi BLAST open and a series of nucleotide sequences on it

The ending of Goodbye Lara is definitely clever and probably good. People getting mad at the ending feels almost like a desired outcome, because it helps sell the point it is making.
