An internal report shared with MS NOW shows the military blaming DHS for poor planning in the chaotic raid. Experts say the troops’ actions now look like they may have been illegal.

Not sure knocking $0.20 off a gallon is going to be politically (or economically) meaningful when it's up a $1.60 per gallon since before the Iran War.

They're holding up a major escalation in Iran and a crackdown on abortion until after the midterms to limit political damage. To the extent that the last two years have been a right-wing smash-and-grab operation, the next two will be worse.

Heartened the media is upset about the WH ban and found solidarity to protect the 1A interest of the press, generally. Frustrated that the media, as a collective, cares so much for this authoritarian act and so little, as a collective, for so many others. Important to resist urge toward cynicism

That doesn’t necessarily mean, however, that the regime falls or that Tehran can’t isolate sufficient resources for the production of missiles and drones. Iran has the world’s most tested sanctions-evasion network. One of the reasons that the clerical regime chose to concentrate on these projectiles is that they give superb bang for the buck. Obviously, fairly stringent US sanctions were unable to thwart the acquisition of whatever foreign parts were needed for these weapons. If either Moscow or Beijing is now helping Tehran with such projectiles, then US efforts are effectively checkmated.

James Longstreet was one of the most important Confederate generals and yet there are just 13 memorials to Longstreet compared to 59 for JEB Stuart and 64 for Beauregard. That's because post war, Longstreet supported Reconstruction and led a militia against the White League during this battle.
