A truly heinous man has doxxed the Cornell victim on X and the comments are predictably vile. Based on countless interviews I’ve done with survivors, the trauma they are subjected to for coming forward is oftentimes even worse than the initial trauma they experienced. There is no real justice system

There is too much at stake in November — it’s time for a fair vote for chair, and for @juliopenabk.com and the new majority coalition to get to work building a party that delivers real wins for our Brooklyn communities.

It is time for this absurdity to end. The election took place in June. The attempts to overturn it have run their course and the legal matters are settled. Every statewide and national elected official who has weighed in has called on the outgoing chair to respect the results.

No rules amendments were presented to or voted on by the County Committee. Lawyers for the Brooklyn Can’t Wait coalition have asked for a stay of tonight’s meeting, to clarify that the voting members of the Exec Committee are the 42 elected District Leaders.

They will claim these same illegal rules changes were passed by the full Kings County Democratic County Committee last week. This is false. Members voted to ratify the current party rules, now re-affirmed by the court to be the rules in place at the time of the June election.

We are worried that, instead of accepting this decision, the outgoing Party Chair and her allies will keep trying to reverse the election result.

Now the newly-elected leaders should finally meet to elect a new party chair. @juliopenabk.com has the support of the majority coalition, and as chair he will make sure that every District Leader and every community has a voice in our Democratic Party.

Brooklynites voted to elect new District Leaders with the power to elect a new party chair. No one has the power to overturn that election result, and certainly not the outgoing district leaders who just lost their seats. We are glad to see democracy validated in court again.

The Appellate Division ruled today that “the amendments that passed on August 25, 2026, are invalid” — the Brooklyn Democratic Party can’t change its rules to reverse an election result. This is a victory for democracy and for common sense. www.nycourts.gov/courts/ad2/H... 1/🧵

Seldom do court rulings on political corruption go the way of people who want less corruption. Celebrate this! And then let’s immediately get back to work actually winning elections. There is so much work to do that is not having to thwart disgusting power grabs.

At a fundraising convention in Columbus, OH and in the first hour “Here’s a new AI tool to help you fundraise” has been uttered over 20 times. Shoehorning everything into one way of not-thinking and “producing,” no matter the cause, or organization. This is what we’re doing everywhere.

It’s not uncommon for terrible people to spend hours & hours doxxing a victim in order to protect predators. Imagine if they used that effort for good? There is a reason the concept of “believing women” was the main target of the anti-Me Too movement. Too much in this country runs on misogyny.

Democrats do not only need to "go all in" on higher education. The party needs a genuine reset on its understanding of it. The last three Democratic administrations contributed to creating the crisis that higher ed is facing today.

Let us be clear: Brooklyn needs a fair vote by the elected District Leaders. The Chair attempting to pick her own successor after she lost an election isn’t democracy, it's cronyism, and the illegal rules changes she has fought to enact would permanently end democratic oversight of our party.

This is true, and it’s why we need more people observing and watching these atrocities unfold. The amount of people who joined groups like this skyrocketed after the Minneapolis surge, but people have dropped off a lot, even though ICE arrests are continuing to increase.

🗃️ An important caveat about this war: The Republic of the Rif was successfully resisting TWO empires simultaneously, so they resorted to using chemical weapons. This was, on the heels of international agreements to make these weapons illegal. Imperialism: Rules for thee but not for me. Always.
By mid-October, when operations stopped for the winter, the Rif was sealed off. Yet even in early January the government still functioned inside the cordon: criminals were arrested, the road was open, the telegraph worked. But the Rifis had 3,000 men at most; the French and Spanish had 123,000 and 150 aeroplanes that dropped poison gas. In April Rifi forces in the Jibala could not be supplied and they began to leave. Bin Abd al-Karim told the qabilas to prepare their own defence.

It is loooong past time for Columbia and NYU to pay up. Unis that primarily function as real estate portfolios should be anathema. Instead, all of higher-ed gets castigated as part of some "Ivory Tower" conspiracy. When, if you look at who makes up CUNY, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Historically speaking, we're keen to remember huge instances of corruption as earth-shifting and era-defining. Yet, it's often the petty corruption, for things so trivial sounding it doesn't even seem like a big deal, where all the rot in a society stems from. The BK Dems, are the perfect example.
