Noel @breadhiking.com · 24/09/2026This is roughly 50/50 stuff that I played solo and stuff I played online with people or in the lounge at school. 140
Noel @breadhiking.com · 04/09/2026Did you do the standard or extended? Because what the HELL is the first one in the extended? Also they nailed me pretty good. 110
Noel @breadhiking.com · 04/09/2026Mine is perhaps also unsurprising. I need to have my spouse take it as though they have lived in CA nearly their entire life they have some odd NEisms that creep in, presumably from family. I think the only family one I have is y'all from my mom from well before it became popular more broadly. 010
Noel @breadhiking.com · 01/09/2026For my crimes, please witness this extremely failed experiment from yesterday. Did pizzas for a bday celebration, decided to see if I could do bread in the absolutely-no-temperature-control pizza oven. It was still raw in the center. Admittedly, an expected possible result. 100
Noel @breadhiking.com · 25/08/2026He was fished out of a storm drain in downtown San Bernardino at about 7 weeks old! I'm always amazed, looking at older pictures, how much his fur has changed since he was young and from season to season. He's about 6mos old here 020
Noel @breadhiking.com · 25/08/2026Electro really liked the bathtub at our prior place, we had to keep a towel in there for him when it wasn't in use. 261
Noel @breadhiking.com · 19/08/2026Private tab in California. I appreciate the reference to the Divine Comedy as well as the comparative overview. A refresh gave Eastern Orthodox and a second just gave Christianity. 010
Noel @breadhiking.com · 15/08/2026Took the pictures for this back in May and just got around to assembling them! More in the alt text 030
Noel @breadhiking.com · 01/08/2026I can't find any of the pictures of the inappropriate cucumbers we've had over the years, but I do have one of a zucchini. Still no idea how this thing got missed in the plant. 1100
Noel @breadhiking.com · 21/07/2026So, do we think he is a long time Never-Ending Pasta Pass holder? Or has he seen a stupid headline about it recently? 020
Noel @breadhiking.com · 20/07/2026Dined al fresco this evening. Grilled green beans (not pictured) and cedar chicken packets. 010
Noel @breadhiking.com · 22/06/2026My absolute favorite berry needs a bit of processing for it to be how I like to eat it (pictured below) but I won't kick a tomato or banana or cucumber off the plate. 120
Noel @breadhiking.com · 16/06/2026I grew up with it being a name for both the spider and the crane fly, which according to this is unusual for the USA, but also peep these other names. 100
Noel @breadhiking.com · 20/05/2026Folks it is that season once again in California. PM.3, 1, 2.5, and 10 all with a nice spike right when the wind shifted! 010
Noel @breadhiking.com · 13/05/2026I thought I had already cleared it from spam, but I hadn't! The body has some, let me say, more veiled antisemitism regarding big pharma than you would expect given, you know, the rest of it. 110
Noel @breadhiking.com · 24/04/2026It was BAFFLING I never saw them playing on it. Apologies for the horrible drawing, but it was roughly like this. The hoops were attached to the walls of the mezzanine floor on these long brackets that folded out. Which was really more of a wraparound walkway? Pile was probably .5-.75" at minimum. 110
Noel @breadhiking.com · 19/04/2026The shipping company handled that for me with the koala I got for my spouse. 170
Noel @breadhiking.com · 19/04/2026I've seen the bars, but not the spread! These two have been my recent ones, picked them up at a local company gift fair last Xmas. They're just what they say they are on the tin too. 110
Noel @breadhiking.com · 23/03/2026I've been doing some genealogy research (for reasons), and I already knew this had happened, but found a death certificate for an ancestor: 010
Noel @breadhiking.com · 03/03/2026At first I was just going to hop out to look at the eclipse and not take photos, but then I decided I should take some. Then I was going to go to bed at a normal time... but then I dallied and thought might as well wait till totality. So I missed a bunch of stages, but, eclipse photos. 182
Noel @breadhiking.com · 02/03/2026I was just thinking I didn't realize it went down to hundredths of a percent, and then I went to look at mine! 130
Noel @breadhiking.com · 27/02/2026found it! I don't know if it is original, been that way for at least 20 years though I think. 010
Noel @breadhiking.com · 13/02/2026at our old place it was a not uncommon experience for this little jackass to scramble himself all the way to the top of the curtains in a fit, and then sit there looking at us like "why did you do this to me" and wailing 010
Noel @breadhiking.com · 12/02/2026Ours is needlessly complicated this month because of it being across 25/26 and getting the rates from both. this is roughly 48% EV charging. This ends up at roughly $0.103/kWh not including the fixed costs AND including kWh from the solar self consumed that never touches the grid. 110
Noel @breadhiking.com · 06/02/2026smh, why is everyone sharing the photshopped version. we shouldn't be spreading misinformation instead of the real picture 030
Noel @breadhiking.com · 27/01/2026Some possibly good news this evening, went outside and saw the glow of the sunset on the flag and decided to lean in. 030
Noel @breadhiking.com · 26/01/2026Gooseberries are great! Only discovered Tiptree in '24 in a shop in Boston, got myself Black Currant and my dad Rhubarb Vanilla. Back in '12 my spouse was working in the national forest and when I visited we harvested some CA native gooseberries and I made a sauce with em (apologies for the WB) 210
Noel @breadhiking.com · 09/01/2026Consequences of nearly all of my travel before the last ~5 years either being road trips as a kid, two moving road trips for others, or academic conferences. 220
Noel @breadhiking.com · 02/01/2026No cheating: quote skeet with the most recent picture of your pet 040
Noel @breadhiking.com · 01/01/2026I let it brown a bit too much before tenting with foil, but it still turned out pretty well! Ends up sort of like a pull-apart style cinnamon roll, quite good. I added a little bit of cardamom to the filling as well. 130
Noel @breadhiking.com · 01/01/2026King Arthur Flour. I saw it in their December Baking Roundup and thought it might make a good New Year's Morning bake. www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/gian... 120
Noel @breadhiking.com · 01/01/2026The layout has changed a bit since this photo, still need to get some fake turf or something for the floor. 010
Noel @breadhiking.com · 20/12/2025this was early on, more presents got wrapped and went under the tree and then some left. cat-proof ornaments (cardboard ones from our chocolate advent calendar) got hung on it we're only expecting 5 for xmas eve, assuming the spouse feels better this weekend 2192
Noel @breadhiking.com · 29/11/2025I didn't have the chance to get many pictures during, but I did nab a few to send to the grandparents, the latter with about half the dishes out: Guests also brought potatoes au gratin and Cantonese sticky rice 010
