I quite enjoyed I'm Looking For a Zombie's first episode, so I looked it up and saw it was based on a manga that ran for 18 chapters and got the axe. Then I decided to read all of it, and now I'm wondering what we're doing here.

Today would've been the sixty-fifth birthday of Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi. It tends to get swallowed up in the enormous franchise it became, but I truly believe that his original manga can provide a valuable lesson to artists about process and work and improvement over time.

One of my number one beefs with retouching manga is gradient screentones. When the shift in value is perfectly horizontal or vertical I can deal with it, but when it moves at an angle, it can be hard to deal with. In this case, there's enough art for me to source from at the right of the page.

I've asked my existing clients for more work and just applied somewhere else, but with very little translating work currently in the queue, cashflow will be dangerously low for November-December, and the credit card is getting close to maxed... buy something from my shop, if you please!

Little disappointed in ANN's headline here. Tsuda's point was still made, and Japan has now made it very clear that actor's voices do, in fact, belong to them. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

ace combat 8: we tripled down on it being a mech anime but with fighter jets instead. what if you were a newtype in an f-18. and there was a pink haired girl in your squadron who also inexplicably knows what's going to happen before it happens just like you do. also there's a ghost in your head.

sigh... got slammed with a $5k car repair and aside from my weekly simulpub work at Jump+, my work queue is completely EMPTY. I already had to cut my hours this year for my health, so I don't have enough to cover this.

So happy I got to help the VGHF with this, and looking forward to helping more in the future! They have been an incredible research for our book project and also for my own general education on preservation and history, and also just plain fun (Sega Channel!!), and I'm glad I got to repay the favor.

This tells me that giving anti-AI feedback WORKS. The devs heard the message loud and clear, and they're really grateful for the time and effort we put into our 100% human translation, that they paid us well for. Keep telling companies how much you hate AI! And how much you love human efforts!

Awhile back my team translated a game demo, and if it did well the full game would be made. And we've recently heard that it's going ahead. The dev had tons of praise for our translation because the players loved it. Most important feedback? Players loved that it clearly *wasn't* AI translation.
