Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...
A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is. Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

Sometimes I hear this song with some sort of person singing it and I think "you're messing it all up."

ok thank you jun takeuchi
“‘Requiem’ isn’t just a title chosen for its meaning of ‘requiem,'” said Takeuchi via GamesRadar. “The spelling of Requiem (REQUIEM) contains not only the ‘RE (response)’ … but also a ‘Q (question).’ In other words, this ‘Requiem’ presents both an ‘answer’ and a ‘question.’ I will explain the meaning of that at some point in the future.”

Forgot I took a photo of the good sonic ice cream grafitti in the neighborhood
Spray painted block letters in teal and yellow say LE CH with a melty sonic ice cream pop in the middle, to possibly spell leach, with a pink ice cream cone to the right. The sonic pop has green gumball eyes and is dripping in various places.

According to the Wikipedia page (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_El...) there was a contest in which you could win a trip to the Daytona 500 - I suspect the jacket may be a consolation prize for that, especially since it's made in USA which is quite rare. but the entry form is blurry and I can't confirm!
A very pixelated contest form stating you can win a trip to the daytona 500. All the details are garbled visually.

A small mystery: I found this jacket in Japan, but I can't figure out it's exact provenance. It appears to commemorate konami's Bill Elliott's NASCAR from 1992 on the nes, which was the first ever licensed NASCAR game. but I can't find evidence of the jacket existing. So what/when is it from?
A black windbreaker racing jacket with yellow and red sleeves on the right and left respectively, both of which have Konami and the Konami logo embroidered on them. Bill Elliott's NASCAR is also embroidered on the chest. The back of the jacket, showing the Konami name and vintage logo and Bill Elliott's NASCAR challenge in larger letters (with the official Nascar logo) Close up of the tag, the only interesting piece of info is that it's made in USA.

Silent Hill f-ing it over here
A grey suburban street in Japan, with wet ground and grey skies. A tower is visible in the background. A view of a river, with grey skies, a rusted fence, and bright red higanbana in the foreground A rusty mirror pole in front of a house. It's darker now and the rust is very strong. A dark residential alley with a rust plate fence on the fight and srone wall on the left. Street lights are visible in the further distance.

They'll let you buy as much D as you can afford in there. Me, I'd rather go across the street and get a pizzer
The menu for pizzeria citraba. They for some reason just spell it "pizzer," which they also do on the box! The pizza is mediocre but it's better than going to the D-PIT

You guys want anything from the D-PIT?
A photo of dominoes in Nakano, Japan. The proper store is on the right, but on the left is an open garage full of delivery bikes with pizza warming bags on tbe front. Above the garage is the word D-PIT, which is what they've chosen to call their delivery zone for some reason. It's filled with an eerie blue light.

Super embarrassing to have Unseen's CEO asking musk to check out her game (while also spelling his name wrong in the comic). I've heard some worrying stuff about Unseen's leadership and this does not negate it.
Ikumi Nakamura publicly tweets:

Hello @elonmusk 👋
A bit nervous to ask this publicly, but—
we’re hosting a small experimental closed event for KEMURI at our UNSEEN studio in Tokyo during TGS.
If you’re around, I’d love to invite you.
I also have something I’d like to talk with you about regarding UNSEEN.
Can we talk in DM? 🙂A comic from the post, which is called "tesla mask" (U being mistaken for A is a common Japanese English error.

In the first panel, ikumi is getting seated at the game awards. She says "oh, I know the guy next to me from somewhere, what's his name. Um... Mmm"

In the second panel she's seated next to Elon Musk and says "Ah! A you tesla musk-san right?"

In the third panel musk says "hello" and she says "thank you"

In the fourth panel it's a sketch of a photo of them at the game awards with tears added down her face. The caption says "no, sir. He is Elon Musk-san"

A white crown Victoria has a bunch of bumper stickers on it, including "follow me to videotheque" "bi on board, please hit on me" "proud parent of a VHS collection" "quit honkin' I'm too horny to think" and "honk if you're haunted"

2nd Loop arcade in Torrance is a really nice 90s-style arcade with dozens of candy cabs in a small space and a nice community vibe. $5 for 30 mins of play (or you can pay as you go)
Several candy cabs are lined up with red cushioned stools in front of them on a black and white checkered floor and pale blue lighting. CvS2 is visible on the closest screen. More arcade machines, with a driving seat in the foreground (for wangan midnight tune 3)Sonic the fighters on an astro city cab

It's me, wearing a Bart Simpson shirt, standing on the street in front of a mural of Homer wearing suspenders and marge with a red top, sunglasses, her hair down, and hearts all around, in front of their pink sedan with the dented front fender. Also my jacket is on the ground because I didn't know where to put it. The mural is on rodeo mexican grill in echo park.

AI could never match the power of this ad for soup dumplings at Kang Kang Food Court
On an storefront window a giant, 7 foot high lit sign depicts an Asian woman biting into a soup dumpling. A whole bunch of brown juice is disgustingly spurting out the other side of the dumpling so it kind of looks like she's throwing up through it. There's also a regular looking ad for beef noodle stew, which is just a picture of beef noodle stew in a red bowl with some black chopsticks laid across.

Since most articles seem to omit it, the number cds rose to was $171m, while vinyl rose to $544m. Still a combined lower number than even ad supported streaming revenue, but still cool to see. Full report here: www.riaa.com/reports/2026...
An info graphic from the riaa shows all music revenue rose to $6b, with paid subscriptions accounting for $3.4b of that. Vinyl rose to $544m, cds rose over 50% to $171m, but streaming was srkll the majority.

a print, mostly black and white, with big dripping block letters, of the type you might spraypaing, saying NO GHOST JUST A (shell emoji), where the shell emoji is the shell gas icon, in red and yellow. A sad girl is in the background, and the name ann lee is crudely written above.

If you are looking for an under-seen but perfectly unhinged Tim Curry performance check out the (Nickelodeon!) made for TV teen post apocalyptic movie Doom Runners.
I'm holdong the VHS case for doom runners. It has three teens wearing black and red hockey gear and a big bald fella wearing a tunic. The logo is angled like it's coming at you from the box. The back of the box. The tag line of the film is "dark. Polluted. Dangerous." Tim Curry is there wearing what looks like a low budget stillsuit from the David lynch Dune.

I'm holding four sealed tapwave zodiac games. They are about tbe size of a dvd case despite just holding SD cards. I have GTS racing challenge, Tony hawk vs pro skater 3, z-pak adventure, and Tiger team apache vs hind. Holding my tapwave zodiac whuch looks nice from the front. It's like if you held a palm pilot horizontally. It has an analog stick on the left, four buttons on the right, and a leather shield over the screen. The zodiac is seen from the side now.
