For a bit of context, these “Essence of Anime” releases are incredibly rare, and there’s very little info on them. The current belief is that they had a very brief test run in Canada before Manga either canned the project or lost the license.Other than the slip, they’re identical to the earlier DVDs

Took 3 years, but I finally found it. And before I died, too! This pair also came in from Canada, and can be identified as CA-market sets by the Ontario address and “Colour” spelling on the back of the slip. I’ll try to get proper pictures up on ANN/Blu-ray.com soon, shiny makes it hard to scan

Evangelion Death & Rebirth and End of Evangelion “Essence of anime” slipcovers. They’re very shiny

Back of the slipcovers, showing an Ontario address for Anchor Bay, and the word “Colour”

Inside of the slipcovers, showing they’re just normal Manga releases

Backs of the dvd cases, still normal Manga releases (but notably not Sony Music Video branded ones like Canada originally got)
