It's true. Everytime I watch a cartoon, I turn into a cartoon. If I read a book about turtles, I'm instantly turned into a turtle, and I assume the person writing about turtles is a turtle as well. Can you imagine a turtle crawling over a keyboard hitting the keys to make sentences?

I am seeking material first published this year, in 2026. To be clear, only weird fiction FIRST published in 2026 is eligible for inclusion in this volume. I will accept translated work as long as the first English-language publication was 2026.

I worked at a mom & pop party supply store in 2001 selling greeting cards, birthday stuff, and beanie babies. On 9/11 I remember seeing the news while heading in to work. The owner played the news on the speakers while people came in looking for and buying new beanie babies. It was weird.

Well, in no surprise I talk like someone from Michigan. What's interesting is that Milwaukee and Chicago are higher on the list than my birth city of Detroit. Though, I am on the west side of the state, so I am probably interacting with more people from those cities and absorbed their dialect.
