Omg you guys, he was here! He talked to meeeee And then his account self-destructed immediately afterwards
A bsky dm screen.

Mr Musky: hello Debbie
Me: hey what's up
Mr Musky: I apologize for the unexpected message
Mr Musky: you are welcome to my personal account. I'm glad we can text here, but where are you from?
Me: why do you ask?A bsky dm screen, continued:

Mr Musk: I wanted to take a moment to personally connect with my supporters around the world. While I may be busy, I always try to make time for personal interactions.
Me: supporters? I've never heard of you.
Me: what have you done?
Mr Musky: I've spent much of my career working on electric vehicles, space technology, and AI. If you haven't heard of me, that's perfectly fine there's always more to discover.
Mr Musky: I'm originally from Pretoria, but I moved to Texas because my Tesla and SpaceX companies are here in the States.
Me: oh yeah I've heard of them
Me: SpaceX can't stop exploding their rockets and Tesla sells that ugly ass truck that can only drive on dry highways lol
Me: so you're that guy who can only have sex with girls through the mail 🤣🤣🤣

I love Organic Studios Nitrogen ink, I love it in my broad Pilot Custom Heritage 92 fountain pen, and I love it on tomoe River paper in a repurposed Hobonichi hon planner. All this love is the only reason I can dig deep and get my homework done today.
Some handwritten homework and a clear fountain pen.

Anyway, while Americans inherited business industrial cursive as a practice, we also inherited aspirational Victorian values about handwriting. While working and middle class kids were learning business hand, wealthy kids were being privately educated and learning a different way to write.

Ok look i just want a cat that will hex my enemies. So far I've got a girlboss who probably has a job as director of marketing or something she hasn't told me about because she doesn't want to pay me rent and a himbo that 8 veterinary techs have proposed marriage to.
Two brown striped cats are sitting on my goddamn desk. On the left is a very large, fluffy himbo, on the right is a normal-sized, normal-coated girlboss, though because they're sitting and she's closer to the camera their relative size difference isn't as apparent as it normally would be.

Then there's my pilot custom heritage 92 with a broad nib. Light and tough and less easy to clean but it handles the gnarliest inks with grace and wetness without being too broad for everyday use. This is my desert Island pen, it can do anything.

Not sure I can pick just one. First of a list tho would be my Pelikan m205 with a fine nib, usually filled with Diamine Blue Lightning. It's slim and light and a tough little pen, and easy to clean with its screw out collarless nib unit and my love of shimmer

"I grew up on a farm and we drank raw milk for generations" No you didn't, you were a little kid and you didn't know what Meemaw used this thing (an old milk boiler) for. 90% of raw milk discourse is just straight up ignorance of a category of women's labor that hasn't existed for a while.

I always have a pink pen as my daily driver. It started with noodlers ahab, it leaked and was replaced with an fpr Himalaya, which also leaked so I dug deep and got a Pelikan m205 in rose quartz, fine nib, which should be able to go the rest of my life without leaks.

I know a lot of people criticize the pilot custom 92 for being plasticy and feeling cheap for the price, but before the price went up last year it was $125 bucks for a good gold nib, piston filler demonstrator fountain pen with a lifetime warranty that will write with the toughest inks effortlessly.
And another thing: we have 10 times as much space in here to write whatever we want. It's a useful accessibility tool (to the extent that bluesky is accessible, but that's another post and a topic covered better by others) but it's also a place you can cram a lot of supplimental information into and I simply haven't seen people using this feature to the greatest extent possible.

A picture may be worth a thousand words but on bluesky it's worth 2000 characters and that is useful.

It's not a very flexy pen, and the feed will not keep up if you push it, it's much more of a soft writer reminiscent of noodlers pens, but finer and a better-quality pen body, and I love pens that write like this.

The Asvine P20 fountain pen is impressive for the cost, but kind of useless if you already own the nearly identical but objectively better Nahvalur Schuylkill. Instead, swap the stock nib with a Majohn flex nib for a few dollars and get a much more exciting ,wet flexy piston pen.

I don't use this pen enough, it sparks joy every time I pick it up. The problem is that it handles the most difficult inks with grace and I love difficult inks and so I also need to clean it a lot and I should really just do that more.

Kids these days don't understand the struggle and the trauma they no longer have to deal with. Details in the alt.
A photo of a very cheap ipg nib and section from a very cheap fountain pen that probably writes like trash. These pens are still out there, but they've been crowded out of the market by cheap but extremely high quality pens such as the platinum preppy, the pilot kakuno, student pen options from pelikan, lamy and kaweco, and many excellent disposable fountain pen options.

There are good IPG nibs out there, but it's a whole subject on its own, and largely a vintage pen thing.
