Unrelated, but I went back to listen to Duncan Sheik's 1996 hit Barely Breathing. I have no memory of it at all. Not surprised it chartered though. It sounds like every popular song from the mid-90s synthesized into one breezy four minute tune.

Interesting aside in @aislingmurph.bsky.social's review of Soulpepper's production of the 1906 German tragedy Spring Awakening. Some thought they were coming to see the 2006 Broadway musical adaptation by Steven Sater & Duncan Sheik (who died a few days ago). www.theglobeandmail.com/culture/stag...

Spring Awakening at Soulpepper marks an audacious start to the company’s Santalucia era

Adapted and directed by new artistic director Paolo Santalucia, Spring Awakening is a promising – but imperfect – kick-off to the new season

"boxer who was never knocked down in 93 fights" sounds like something they made up for a movie, like the whole Khabib has never bled in a fight thing, a factoid that literally has no business existing. RIP, legend.

Are you okay with the way Mitch trotted him out? It wasn't dignified. He'd bring him to a Lightfoot concert or the re-opening of the El Mocambo. I never understood why.

Got to my 500 level seat for tonight's @bluejays.com game, only to find that it's an obstructed view. It's not sold as such. At least I'm shielded from Jesus Sanchez's outfield antics?

I get the reference, but describing Aimee Mann as an '80s Rush singer is weird. I suppose it speaks to Rush's sudden, unexpected place in the music zeitgeist of 2026. parade.com/entertainmen...

I've seen him live a lot over the last few years. Got used to him solo and with limited accompaniment. Now the records feel like Technicolor to my ears in comparison.

On this day in 1983, Strange Brew premiered in Canada. Very loosely based on Hamlet, it starred Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as Bob and Doug McKenzie. It earned $8.5 million on a $4 million budget and is now considered to be one of the best Canadian comedy films ever made.

Sure. I don't see him as a mark though. I don't think he's being duped. He sees Trump for who he is and isn't bothered by it. I just wouldn't lump him in with Rogan, who is aggressively ignorant.

Heroic rock legacy band replaces their late heroic rock legacy drummer with a slightly built younger German woman, Anika Niles. These are choices that men can and should make. Bravo to RUSH for not taking the predictable route.
