Eyup, Joel! 🤣🤣 Apologies that put you off. Hopefully the story and our journalism can win you round. In truth, I can't remember the last time I used that greeting - perhaps I need to change it to "now then". Thanks for commenting.

Thanks for your support! Any memories of Leeds Dock from yesteryear?

Thought you might recognise me (glad you didn't remember me accidentally smashing your kitchen window when Daniel and I played baseball in your garden back in the primary school days 🤣). Always good to bump into him when I get the chance to pop into Jacobs Well. Hope you're well.

Thanks for the support, Richard! Glad to have you on board. I wonder, do you recognise my name by any chance?

The Greens were riding high. How did it fall apart so quickly?
‘Let b real, c***cillor Cristiana and Eden went to the right wing media over there, racial biased things’

Leaked documents cast doubt on explanation for Mothin Ali’s councillor cash
'Mothin feels the national party isn’t adequately supporting the leadership team including him, so he’d appreciate this to help make ends meet'

Thanks, @privateeyenews.bsky.social 😎! Good to be recognised for our work on the Leeds Greens and the bonkers goings-on there over the past few months. Only fair to give mention back to Private Eye for piquing our interest with its report at the start of August. Our stories in the replies ⬇

It delayed us, but we'd worked incredibly hard on getting the inside track on what exactly had gone on with the new SRAs the LGP had been allocated this summer. 2/2 Here's the story, ahead of part two which will be coming out imminently: theexchange.news/leaked-docum...

Holding people, companies and authorities to account is a key pillar of journalism and I'm extremely passionate about it. That's why I didn't let a legal letter dropping at the eleventh hour last Friday stop us from publishing our revelations on the Leeds Green Party. 1/2

That not withstanding, I find it utterly abhorrent that some layabout vandals think its appropriate to desecrate a monument to a pivotal part of Leeds' history that: A - A lot of time, effort and money has gone into B - Is probably older than them

I have to admit, I'm struggling to agree with Chris Whippey that the Tetley's shire horse is as important as the Billy Bremner statue outside Leeds United's Elland Road. But delving into its history, I am keenly aware that it is, well, very important. Interested in your views ⬇️

Was hoping we'd find Benidorm on the list 🤣! Great read from @djstimms.bsky.social and if you think the idea of watching your partner wash while you binge Netflix on the bed is odd, do check out my Home of the Week in today's briefing. Is it odd? Am I the odd one for thinking it's odd?

A story for the ages. I'm glad we've managed to somewhat solve this. Don't fancy the idea of this being adopted more widely and my beloved Leeds United being rebranded as Leeps United 🤣🤣.

I'd love to speak to some of you out there, so feel free to respond here or email me (brad@theexchange.news). We might even be able to arrange a cuppa at the office 👀🍵!

It touches on, in a lighthearted way, identity in the "Leeds-Bradford corridor", which I think gives an idea of my perspective of our areas. A bit of me but underpinned by journalism and the ideas I'm considering in these early months - a look beind the curtain, if you will. 2/2

Those who know me well will be surprised to hear it was quite strange writing about myself. Those who don't, what you waiting for? In all seriousness though, this isn't just me rambling on about my life. 1/2

Among the more substantial news, I have to say the sheep-debacle landing in my inbox was an eyebrow-raiser 🤨. PETA calling for a plaque for all the sheep who "suffered and died so their fleece could be sold there". Read the full quote in the briefing and see what you think.

Just had some balloons fly up my screen on a different social media platform and remembered it's my birthday 🤣🤣! Not the same turning 31 - last year's big bash was an absolute movie.

Great read from my colleague @miajankowicz.bsky.social! Some proper top class insights in there about a man who was notoriously private. Give it a go and let us know what you think! #SamuelSmith

Really interesting insight from @davidmbarnett.bsky.social on @bradfordlitfest.bsky.social and UK BookFest, run by Stephen White. I must admit, the latter event is much more "me". Although I've never attended Lit Fest despite working in Bradford for eight years so perhaps I need to give it a try.

📣 This is my first solo byline and it took a lot of work to bring together and I couldn't be more proud of the outcome. It does have a paywall but we think our journalism is well worth it - no clickbait, in-depth reads that will get you thinking. Find out for yourself ⬇⬇

I spoke at length with Gary last week and on Monday before attending a court case in relation to the encampment yesterday. We talked: - Why he's happy with his lifestyle - The sheer amount of items at the camp - Society and getting closer to humanity - A darker side to Gary 3/4

Little did I know when I approached the encampment last Thursday that this idea would but taken down a new path. Most people have assumed, me included, that the camp is inhabited by multiple people. Well, that's wrong, it's just Gary, the king of his encampment. 2/4

"In my life, I’m a king, that £10, that’s me" I actually set out on this story with the view of looking at homelessness more broadly in Bradford. Is outside the mags court the new hub after the arches were boarded up? Has the problem been moved rather than dealt with? 1/4
