public intrastructure and services that make life better, no. private for-profit ecological disaster pipelines, yes. can you seriously not tell the difference between these? What's the point of extracting oil if they can't even promise a return on investment? what's wrong with you?

(1/12) No. The painful truth about #LongCOVID is not the alleged suppression of brain retraining, but that the scale of the pandemic and aftermath were preventable. Systemic and collective failures emerged from a chain of poor decisions. Millions dead. Millions of lives ruined. Trillions $ lost.

New study suggests that raising school ventilation levels to ASHRAE 241 targets could reduce flu cases by 33% for the WHOLE POPULATION! We need clean air in schools so bad!!! www.medrxiv.org/content/10.6...
Climate-Ready Buildings: Insights from U.S. Schools in a Global Context

Climate Week NYC • Sept 23
Projected Health Impacts of Cleaner Air in NYC Schools
Geetha Jeyapragasan and Charlie Whittaker I University of California, Berkeley
We modelled the projected impact of higher levels of ventilation and filtration in NYC schools. We did this by assessing the impact of achieving a field-recognized standard for healthy indoor air (ASHRAE Standard 241), developed by the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, the professional association of ventilation engineers. Adopting it in schools would reduce the burden of seasonal respiratory illness and improve preparedness for future epidemics.
We developed an epidemiological modelling framework to estimate how improving building air quality affects airborne disease transmission in schools. Here, using seasonal influenza as a case study, we share results about the potential public health impact of raising ventilation such that all schools met ASHRAE 241 targets, approximately 9 equivalent air changes per hour (ACH).

Why This Matters for New York City
ALL FLU CASES
New York City operates the largest public school system in the United States, with approximately 880,000 students across 1,800 schools. A large portion of this infrastructure predates modern ventilation standards, with the average school building around 70 years old. An inspection of NYC schools i…

uhh, the bills haven't gone into effect yet so... there's that. or the ones that have, these things take years to have a fallout for the rest of our lives. that's how policy has always worked. that's why people are raising the alarm now after reading the bills

OMFG if I see one more person suggest that people talking about Covid in 2026 want permanent lockdowns I’m going to lose it The asks are clean air in public places, treatments for long covid, masks in places like healthcare + normalization of masking elsewhere, expanded vaccine access, sick leave

again, when was the last time armed resistance to police or military intervention was successfull? they already have more force. keeping the guns as a pretense to be able to fight off the state means the guns stay prolific for mass shooters- the segment of gun owners that otherwise aren't deterred

if nothing in the last 10 years has led to an uprising against the ruling class, i just don't know what would do it. parable of the sower seems much more likely. not tackling guns after columbine was a mistake. only tackling guns now also won't fix everything but i don't think that means defend them

to my thinking, this is part of the problem. the people in charge of running the country/population into the ground are against gun control also. they funnel guns into communities bc they make money off the guns and don't care about the casualties. if they like it that way, is it good?
100
boyohazard.bsky.social @boyohazard.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
yes! there are many moving parts, i'm guessing we agree on more than we disagree. in a place where basic life needs are not a priority of the ruling class, is unchecked weapon proliferation amongst an increasingly desperate population a general good?

so this is one, and rude on top. in a place where police, law, and the possability of anyone having a gun on them- none of that stopped this person except the actual visible gun. sounds like something more fucked up is happening in that place where people still feel so emboldened to be violent
