The best feedback/suggestions I’ve had inspire my edits to be more economical. Both in tightening word counts and putting more narrative information in a single illustration. It’s so satisfying when you can solve a problem that seemed impossible. #kidlitchat

I try to frame the feedback I get less as validation, and more as, “are people going to understand the concept/joke/observation I am attempting to communicate?” “Is my voice comprehensible in this case?” #kidlitchat

I think even terrible feedback can trigger a creative spark, and even a baffling take will make me consider, “how could this person misunderstand the thing this badly and what can I do to help them over the finish line without compromising the book for others?” #kidlitchat
