A dynamic that I think a lot of the SaH readership are either missing or not vocalizing is that building a new stadium in Seattle is going to mean big displacement for the people and businesses there now. Even less populated parts of the city are still places where someone lives or works.

Feels like the FO is setting up a situation which forces a move instead of figuring out how to make Lumen work. It's the "defund it until it's unpopular enough to be replaced" model. They can move the team to Renton if they want, but a lot of ppl won't follow and it won't be the Sounders anymore.

I really wish I had been able to be in the stadium as this went up, but I'm really happy I got a chance to add my hands into making it happen before the match.

I have a sorta policy of not posting about individual players poor on field performance. Like they are people and I can comment on the game going poorly or how I am feeling about the team being shit without singling people out for online vitriol. With that being said...CATCH THE FUCKING BALL.

Starting to have convos with colleagues (actually the academics I work under) about not uploading unpublished papers etc to "internal" Google websites for ease of dissemination before a conference discussion. There's a steep curve to thinking about the dangers of what used to be common practices.

Ok while the guy is wrong entirely about the idea of "no one went outside before the subway took them there", there is def a thing we think of as "modern outdoor" life that is both a product of industrialization and colonialism- which honestly what's the difference really.
