Got this to the finish line in time to have prints for magical girls fest this weekend ⚔️ #utena #art #rgu

Drawing of utena as a knight. She is wielding a sword and looking towards a coffin wit red eyes inside. Above the coffin sits a pink rose and disembodied crying eyes. Her sword shines underneath the coffin. Surrounding her is a border of black vines, the floating castle above her head

Hilary Lane aka The Second Story's take on The Catcher in the Rye reminds me of when a classmate in college said Shakespeare was inspired by the Salem Witch Trials.

I wasn't wise enough to copy the quote, so I'll paraphrase: When we lose great people, those brought kindness, fun, art, and joy into the world, it's all right to mourn; but it is also a moment that we need to pick up the work. Spread Joy, Kindness, Fun, Art, and humanity where ever you can.

folks SAY they want kindness but this is not always the case. the most controversial thing that i ever post is 'the best way to make inroads in any creative profession is to be kind'. i get SO much pushback, because it is a scary idea for those who have trained themselves to be unkind as a defense

Kitty number 2 is Ludwig. He was soooo shy when we adopted him. He is the sweetest cat we've ever met and so pretty. He dpesn't quite know how to meow so he kind of barks and chirps when he wants something. He loves pets but does not want to cuddle.

Welcome to our kitty account! This is the oldest brother Lancelot. As you can see, he cheers for the Vancouver Whitecaps. He is very particular and perpetually dubious about the two dumb kittens he has to live with.

Something to point out about horrific this horrific tragedy of the loss of Jason Arday: Andrew Wakefield tortured children, manipulated data, and played on the fears of desperate parents - and never got even a 5th of the bullshit Araday did. Nathan Confas - Go Rot.

New in PN: Transgender athletes are a red herring "None of this discourse happened bc there is a new high-profile trans athlete in the news. Instead, Republicans are starting a culture war to rile up their base, co-opt Dems into agreeing with them, & push trans people out of public life altogether"

Reading a few of the articles about this - this is truly tragic. Reviewing prior reports and details, where much of this started was when "Race-Realist" Nathan Cofnas accused Arday of plagiarism back in 2023, and it becomes uglier from there. www.varsity.co.uk/news/28014

Reminder: 1. You don't need to have an opinion on everything, especially stuff you don't know enough about 2. You don't need to have a PUBLIC opinion on everything 3. It's okay to focus on one or two things and let others take up the slack elsewhere 4. It's okay to take a break when overwhelmed.

People who complain about sex scenes not being "plot relevant" coincidentally are often the same types who have a very rigid idea of how a narrative should flow, analyze media in the same joyless and often inaccurate ways as CinemaSins or EFAP, and don't bother dissecting or thinking about themes.
