Today I stepped way out of my comfort zone and did a linocut workshop for absolute beginners. It was so good! Shelagh is an amazing instructor.

Used tools to scrape away the parts of my pink block leaving the meeple shape.

After rolling ink on the pink block (left) I then stamped the image on paper. In hindsight I wish I had left more material around the meeple. Also either scraped in a consistent direction or more randomly.

My counselor suggested I do jigsaw puzzles to help chill out my brain. It's certainly cheaper than Lego :-) Just finished a Dowdle puzzle - that was my mom's favourite she collected and did so many of those ones...

Buddy big dental update: overall the procedure went well but he: - had 9 teeth extracted - has a fistula (a hole between his mouth and nostril) that has now been closed up - bit his tongue during recovery, badly enough it had to be sutured. He's had a long day.

We flew Rodrigo Munduruca (6th degree BJJ black belt) in for a day of private lessons followed by a seminar last night. Then he came to our regular Saturday morning class and we had a pancake breakfast afterwards. The man is a giant, an incredible instructor, and a really cool guy.

Buddy is getting x-rays to check his heart before upcoming dental procedure. He has a grade 2 heart murmur & reacted poorly to 1 type of anesthesia in the past. It is 9am and we got up at 6 and he hadn't had breakfast and he thinks this whole thing is bullshit.

I borrowed a dehydrator from a friend and am trying to preserve some excess food so we could use it over winter in stews etc. Yesterday I dehydrated more zucchini, some Roma tomatoes, and 2 packages of these weird mushrooms we keep getting in our OddBunch weekly box.

I am learning to crochet dishcloths to give me something to do instead of doomscrolling. I made my 3rd one. I was focused. I went into a zone and forgot to count stitches. I ended up with a triangle shape. How do others with neurospicy brains keep focused on the stitch count?!

Buddy is very afraid of fireworks. 630pm last night I gave him trazodone & gabapentin for the first time. He gets so scared you can see him shaking from a distance. He only woke up once with the distant fireworks, didn't shake, and settled back quickly. But now it's 730am and is he still stoned?

I opened the blinds in one of the front facing upstairs rooms and was confused why there was some newspaper. Was all ready to get mad at some half assed thing my hubby started and abandoned. Then I realized the tape let go. He had taped a pride flag from the newspaper in the window <3

My first crochet dishcloth. So many errors, I lost the plot on the final edge and went around a couple of times. Occasionally forgot what I was supposed to be doing and made shit up. Weird shaped. But I didn't quit when it all went wrong.

I decided I want to learn to crochet dishcloths. Bought the stuff. Watched some videos. This crochet pattern isn't mechanically difficult but damn consistency and tension matters. Ripped it apart twice, now just accepting the errors as practice. Also forgot to count stitches after first row. Oops.

For the past week I've been noticing the little asshole is skipping more often when he speeds up, and there is something I can't clearly define when he's walking. All signs point to a low level luxating patella, common in little dogs. Will get him to the vet but there isn't much we can do.

Buddy rarely plays with toys, but my yard is currently littered with them thanks to Bob (a big dog we are looking after for a week). I am sitting outside reading and I noticed Bud destroying a toy. Also please note Teddy going over to Buddy to make sure Bud's penis and butt are okay.
