I'm very excited! Last year I partook in Art Fight for the first time and it was a blast! Unfortunately, I am a very busy bird so I won't be tacking AF as much as I'd prefer, but I will try my best to whip out AF pieces every so often! Also Team Fossils cuz I'm a fossil. #furry #furryart #artfight

Digital sketch of a Hrothgar with muted blue and orange fur from Final Fantasty XIV. He's wearing leather gear consisting of a vito, a leather jacket with silver spikes and studs, chest harnesses, shorts with a blue belt and lace up boots. He has a blue piece of cloth tied around his right thigh. He's tilting up his hat with his right thumb and his other thumb hooks inside a loop of his shorts. His face is partially obscured by shadow and one purple eye is seen. He has a big grin revealing his sharp teeth.

He's wearing black tinted sunglasses and leather gear consisting of a vest with shoulder spikes, arm bands, gloves, a crossbody strap, chaps with jockstrap and harnesses around the legs to fit digitigrade legs. A metal chain is hooked in the chap's belt loop. His right hand clutches on the crossbody harness. He has a big, toothy grin.

Experimental post: Untruthful Mario Boxes Occasionally, box art of Mario-related games will be misleading about the number of levels a game has. I list three examples in ascending order of "fraudulence", alongside equivalent statements if these were real estate ads.

Misinformation about level count on box art
FUDGING THE NUMBERS
Wario Land 4
Over twenty enormous stages await!
Wario Land 4 has 18 platforming levels.
These are all fairly large and can be reasonably
described as "enormous". However, to bring the
number to "over 20", the six boss stages have to
be counted, which each are exactly one single
GBA screen in size. The game either has "enormous
stages" or "over 20" of them, but definitely not both.

EQUIVALENT
Counting
walk-in closets
as rooms
STRETCHING THE DEFINITIONS
Donkey Kong Country
Over 100 levels
Donkey Kong Country has 33 platforming levels,
40 if boss stages are also counted. The "over
100" number comes from counting individual
bonus rooms within levels as levels,
which by any reasonable definition would
be considered parts of a level instead.
Any technical definition by which a room could
be counted as a level, such as "a level is anything
that is loaded into memory separately", would
not reflect the general usage of that word.
REAL ESTATE AD
EQUIVALENT
Counting cupboards as rooms
BLATANT FABRICATION
Super Mario World
Explore 96 levels
Super Mario World has 73 levels.
The number 96 comes from the box counting
levels with two exits as two levels each.
It is generally understood that in a platformer,
a "level" is a distinct area. Counting a single
area as two just because it has two ways to
exit it is at best incomprehensible logic
and at worst deliberately misleading.

On the Mushroom Bridge track in Mario Kart: Double Dash, there is an invisible city on a distant island. The city has been modeled inside-out so that it can only be seen from outside the track instead of within it.

In Mushroom Bridge, a city can be seen in the distance.
However, there is a second, invisible city on another island.
Unless defined otherwise, most surfaces in 3D video games are only visible from the front (the "front" being the direction the surface normal, a vector showing the facing direction of the polygon, is pointing to). The surface normals of the city have been, likely mistakenly, defined to point in the opposite direction to the main track, so that the city appears invisible from the front and only visible from the back.

This is an overlay I drew for the picture of me as captain duck. I enjoy doing these every now and then as a sort of coloring book style activity with a color brush over, and exercise in the use of slight color variation for shading/highlighting rather than using actual lines. #art #furryart #furry
