Day 10: #FantasyIndiesSeptember Rylen prefers knowledge over power as he believes knowledge is real power. Jamie just wants to know what's going on 🤣😅 he'll settle for someone bring him into the loop, please.

Day 10 #SeptemberThrills “His body is marked worse than some of our top military leaders.” Sylen’s quiet thought slithered into Jamie’s mind. “The first time I saw him, I could barely believe the harm a human enacted upon him.”

010

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Day 9: #FantasyIndiesSeptember Jamie wouldn't want any magic or superpowers, but that's because having magic or inhuman abilities that harm humans is despised in the Protectorate Nation. Rylen already has abilities that could be called superpowers, and he's happy with them 👀

Day 9: #SeptemberThrills "You sound like a Daimon," Ari shook his head, "and that colour doesn't suit you." Ari to *redacted*

Day 8: #FantasyIndiesSeptember Rylen liked school-ish. He pushed himself as he feared his adoptive parents would kick him and his little brother out if he didn't do well. His favourite class was music. Jamie felt apathetic toward school, but saw a point to doing well.

Book review!! Such an amazing book! I had some reservations initially as 1st person POV isn't my favourite to read, but I'm so glad I did. It didn't take long to push past the POV concern as the story drew me in right from the start. I love a good political thriller and-

Day 7: #FantasyIndiesSeptember I didn't expect book 2 to be so hard for me to write. In order to get it down, I tapped into a part of myself that I keep closed off, but that was the only way I could get the raw emotions out for Rylen’s POV chapters. @chesneyinfalt.bsky.social @lvrussell.bsky.social

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Day 7: #SeptemberThrills The sober version of Rylen is incredibly responsible. 10 years ago him is another story. Jamie is also responsible almost to a fault. He will not let go of responsibility well after it's time too (which can be a good thing 👀) @jadeblack21.bsky.social

Day 5: #FantasyIndiesSeptember Prison itself was different than he expected. Fellow prisoners avoided him, either because they heard about the charges, or because they liked his music. He preferred that, he had no desire to be an entertainment piece. @chesneyinfalt.bsky.social @lvrussell.bsky.social

Day 5: #SeptemberThrills Kaz comes to mind when bringing up fun loving characters. He doesn't take life too seriously (much to Ilia's chagrin) and is looking for the positive side most of the time. The only time that's not true is when friends are in danger. @jadeblack21.bsky.social

Day 3: #FantasyIndiesSeptember Most children go to Protectorate run schools (where they start being fed a lot of propaganda disguised as education). Chikdren of Ungovernable races might go to specialized schools, or there families will have them be educated within the community.

Day 2: #SeptemberThrills "I'm hot, and I wield pretty privilege like a fuc**** weapon." -Ari, everyone #FantasyIndiesSeptember Most of the time I choose my next read by what I'm feeling in the moment. Unless I've signed up for an ARC, then I will likely switch to that book.

Day 10: #AprilThrills I'd argue Rylen is poetic in some of his song writing. He takes a lot of poetic rules into his songwriting and often tries to make verses or the chorus follow a rhyme scheme of some kind.

011

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 10/04/2026

Day 10: #FantasyIndiesApril I first started writing stories down when I was 10 or 11. It wasn't until my teens I considered writing books as a career, and it took until my mid 20s to write and publish a novel. *fun reminder, Anhelos Bound comes out April 27!*

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 10/04/2026

Day 10: #AprilWorldbuilders Hosts can live far longer than mortal races but unlike Daimons who reform, or Thanatoi who are simply able to be killed and their souls traverse the weave, a host dying means their light particles scatter and disperse into other Hosts nearby. @kiraofthewind.com

161

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 09/04/2026

Day 9: #AprilThrills In book 2 of Ungovernables the seeds of doubt that Rylen sowed in Jamie during the events of PTW start growing 👀👀👀 Will he cut them out like weeds or let them grow, we'll have to wait and see 🤣

000

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 09/04/2026

Day 9: #AprilWorldbuilders Hosts don't fight mortal races, mostly because Hosts can't be harmed by mortal weapons and they aren't really supposed tk fight. Non-mortal races like Thanatoi and Daimons are a different story and generally Hosts try to avoid them. @kiraofthewind.com

160

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 09/04/2026

Day 9: #FantasyIndiesApril Prior to her going missing, Rylen took Kirin for granted a little bit. He kind of assumed he'd die before her and he would never lose her. Jamie takes for granted just how patient Rylen is in book 2.

050

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 07/04/2026

Day 7: #AprilWorldbuilders In Arcturia people tend to specialize in creative arts such as singing, dancing, juggling, or acting. There are several artist troupes that vie for royal attention and placing well in Lunarial festival activities if the best way to gain said attention. @kiraofthewind.com

050

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 07/04/2026

Day 7: #FantasyIndiesApril Animals aren't a big part of Anhelos Bound. There might be a mention of Quinn's summon, Valharen, or Embree's brother's dog, Big Puppy.

040

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 07/04/2026

Day 7: #ApriThrills How about a little excitement from Anhelos Bound 👀👀 “You are a desperate man, Tarquinius, I give you that. But why should I care what happens to Marilla?” Quinn’s laughter echoed around them. “Without her, you have no deal with Luz."

011

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

Don't worry Queen Helin. I'd be nervous if they approached me too 😂😂 From Anhelos Bound! #WIPSnips #snippet ##readingcommunity

Aveugle laughed as she hobbled over to the queen.

“You are an old fool, Queen of the

Land. You ignore the truth for fear of re-

percussions. He," she tilted her head at

Quinn, “is precious and favoured by the

Faye. He has a destiny. Your daughter's

kidnapping was by another. One whose

blood is not tied to this land. Him you

shall release, lest your future be cut.”

Day 1: #AprilThrills All right, here goes: 1: The idea for Ungovernables came from watching a band doing an interview on YT. 2: Ungovernables is an allegory for issues within the mental health world. 3: The MC's of Ungovernables are based on real musicians.

022

Day 1: #FantasyIndiesApril Hi, I'm V.C. and this month I'll be working on book 2 of my supernatural mystery series, Ungovernables. The series is set in a slightly futuristic world known as Tearhan.

Day 1: #AprilWorldbuilders In Anhelos Saga the capital city of Arctus is Arcturia. When the capital shifted from a now ruined city of Aegis, the king named the city after his mother. @kiraofthewind.com

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

Day 31: #MarchWorldbuilders My worldbuilding (that I talk about here) is for my two novels (and maybe future novels occasionally). I do also worldbuild for Dnd when it's my turn to DM for my little group, but I don't usually talk about those worlds here. Maybe I should 🤷‍♀️

031

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

Day 31: #MarchThrills #FantasyIndiesMarch It's been a fairly good month. I didn't accomplish everything i set out to do, but I got a good chunk done. Just a reminder Anhelos Bound comes out April 27! Anhelos Lost ebook sale happens April 3 to 5!

031

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 30/03/2026

Day 30: #FantasyIndiesMarch Rylen has accomplished a lot in his 31 years of life: Founding a successful band Finding sobriety Being a fairly decent father Changing his (and others) minds on some very difficult issues.

041

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 30/03/2026

Day 30: #MarchWorldbuilders I think my favourite thing in Anhelos Saga is the dual magic system. In Ungovernables it's the extremely fractured society. I'm proud of how realistic it feels.

020

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 30/03/2026

Day 30: #MarchThrills In Anhelos, Arctus has four provinces within the kingdom. Each province is controlled by a high level noble (usually connected to the Crown). For example, the Vracca family controls the Acton province (which is also the province the capital is in).

011

V.C.Boldick 🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈 @boldickv.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

Day 29: #FantasyIndiesMarch In Anhelos Saga there are two magic systems. An innate magic system and a runic based one. The innate system is easier to control but less powerful. The runic systems power is raw and unwieldy. Most innate users look down on runic users.
