Got a subscription gift box from Ireland yesterday. Among several nice things was a packet of Keogh’s cheddar and onion. I have Guinness in the fridge. Not Tayto and tap (IYKYK), but it’s close as I can get here in ‘Murica. Is it sad that I’m saving these for a special occasion? ☘️

Thank you CNBC for using the word “false!” “Trump added that his tariff policies enabled the dividend plan, claiming they have helped bring $21 trillion in U.S. investment. That figure, and similarly huge numbers that Trump has claimed…, have been repeatedly fact-checked as false.”

Such a payout could cost more than $1 trillion and is likely to face legal obstacles.

Not applicable tonight because it’s a 31st, but I get irrationally happy when I have to manually roll over the date on my analog watch. It’s a small victory against the technocracy, but I’ll take it

I painted this today to capture how I feel after losing my wife almost a year ago to cancer. “Cronaím thú uaim” is one way of saying “I miss you” in Irish. It translates literally into English as “I feel you gone from me.” I think this Irish expression captures loss and longing in a beautiful way.

I’m a recent widower who lost my beloved wife of 36 years to cancer 10 months ago. I’m trying to adjust now to a life I never asked for and didn’t want. It occurs to me that a lot of us feel that way right now for a lot of reasons. Hang in there, be kind to yourself, we will get through this

When I was younger I was a Cowboys fan. My wife-to-be was a (then) Redskins fan. Before we married, I had to convert and agree to raise the children as WAS fans. If you're a fan of either team, you understand the enormity of the ask and my sacrifice for a happy marriage

How the hell can we be “GREAT” if there are children (or anyone) going hungry? GREAT has to mean great for everyone or it means nothing at all. We can argue about how to do that, but if you don’t agree that no one should go hungry, you’re just wrong

On the way to play in a session in Westport, Co. Mayo, I looked up and saw a rainbow. I undertook this entire musical journey to help heal from losing my wife of 36 years to cancer last year. We’ve always said rainbows were one of our loved ones letting us know they’re still here with us somehow.

I learned this beautiful expression today: ‘Cronaím thú uaim’ which translates as ‘I feel you gone from me’ and is the Irish way of saying I miss you. I thought it conveyed loss and grief more poetically than our English version which sounds a little sterile by comparison even when we mean it deeply

Here’s a rare angry thought. I’m old enough to remember the Tylenol scare from the 70s. I hope that person rots in hell for all the excessive packaging we’ve had to deal with for decades thanks to them. I try to forgive, but that was pre-arthritis.

I loathe and refuse to engage with a post or article in any flavor of “you’re doing it wrong” so they can sell me something to make it right. I realize that’s 99.9+% of the Internet now, but I’m an eternal optimist so I’m still searching for that rare bit of humor, empathy, connection, or insight.
