bodhranbard.bsky.social @bodhranbard.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I painted this today to capture how I feel after losing my wife almost a year ago to cancer. “Cronaím thú uaim” is one way of saying “I miss you” in Irish. It translates literally into English as “I feel you gone from me.” I think this Irish expression captures loss and longing in a beautiful way. 060

bodhranbard.bsky.social @bodhranbard.bsky.social · 08/08/2026On the way to play in a session in Westport, Co. Mayo, I looked up and saw a rainbow. I undertook this entire musical journey to help heal from losing my wife of 36 years to cancer last year. We’ve always said rainbows were one of our loved ones letting us know they’re still here with us somehow. 110

bodhranbard.bsky.social @bodhranbard.bsky.social · 05/07/2026My takeaways from President Biden’s comments: 1. We need to love America’s ideals more than our ideology, greed, blaming, hatred for “others” 2. Fight for those ideals every day, including arguing with each other over how to best realize them. It’s worth arguing over because we care deeply about it 010

bodhranbard.bsky.social @bodhranbard.bsky.social · 21/06/2026Suffered a catastrophic loss last year when my wife was overtaken by cancer. Grief is a profound experience of love and loss. I found solace in creating art that expresses some of that loss. This one shows what it’s like to have your life sundered irreversibly by a force you have no control over. 120
