Others are incredibly social, no strings attached. (But they may like playing with strings.)

BobTarte @bobtarte.bsky.social · 29/04/2026

I am so sorry to hear about your dog.

BobTarte @bobtarte.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

Me, too. Wait... I AM home.

BobTarte @bobtarte.bsky.social · 27/04/2026

I'm so sorry you have to face this. I know how tough it is and how it will take to feel better. I lost my wife and sister in the past year, but that isn't to diminish your loss a single bit. My cats and parrot have been my solace. All my best to you.

I hope you survived more or less unscathed.

Yes, definitely a good job in general and a big help. But very occasionally inept.

Same with Red-headed Woodpeckers.

Did you hear any birds that Merlin didn't catch? (Assuming this is Merlin.) That's a problem I have at times.

Definitely looks like he's enjoying himself!

I never, ever get tired of seeing them! Magnificent birds.

Beautiful. I love the shadows.

I just found the original female Canvasback decoy and should be able to retrieve her from the water in a few days. Things tend to materialize on my property from time to time.

BobTarte @bobtarte.bsky.social · 20/04/2026

Thanks, I will have to look her up.

BobTarte @bobtarte.bsky.social · 20/04/2026

Two weeks ago I found a female Canvasback duck decoy in my flooded woods. Then lost I her. I started seeing her again a few days ago and was able to retrieve her this morning. But it's a different decoy. A female Mallard. Where are they coming from? #ducks #birds #wildlife #photography

Faded plastic female Mallard duck decoy with brownish body, bits of orange left on beak, and a hint of the purple-blue speculum feathers.

Thanks so much. I had a nice walk in the sunshine. It's good to finally have a morning without thunderstorms.

Remembering my wife Linda on her birthday. This photo is probably from the 1970s (before I'd met her).

Beautiful redheaded woman with long braids and radiant smile, seated on couch. I don't recognize the indoor location.

A pair of Hooded Mergansers showed up briefly last evening in the pond down the hill from my house. I couldn't get anywhere near them, so here's a photo from several years ago with a remote camera focused on an area where they sometimes appear. They are super shy. #Ducks #Birds #Nature #Photography

Thanks so much. I'm hanging in there. I've got another helper in addition to my two kitties.

Thank you! She is super smart and has a sweet but skittish nature.

Thank you so much. I appreciate the follow!

Thanks so much. She showed up in my yard as a kitten in 2020, lived in my barn for the summer, then moved into the house, never again ever wanting to go back outdoors. She is incredibly smart and has helped me through very rough times.

Head shot of female orange kitty with white muzzle and chin.

I've got an orange girl, too! Danielle.
