Long term, I'm fully reworking Rats in Suits from the ground up. I've not had time to commit to long project, but as there was stuff I wanted to improve, I'd been hacking away at pencil layouts just to keep myself sane. For the rest of the production, it'd be after I leave Walmart.

Because it doesn't even read like the first draft I'd give to an editor. It's more the bare skeleton where I'd go in and self-correct. But I assume these go through an editor. Like I wasn't thoroughly skimming for examples to dunk on. I was flipping through random pages and some of the beginning.

So full disclosure I've not read other James Patterson books, but I know it's an entire pipeline of writers. And what I've read (in the 30 minutes before my shift ended) feel more like an editing problem. I dunno how long the writers are given, but there's so many Patterson books.

I firmly believe the three hardest genres to write are comedy, romance, and romantic comedy in that order and not as a bit. It's one thing to be funny. It's another to create a relationship that the viewer wants to see grow and develop, and another to pull off both.

This isn't a call to action, as there's not a lot to be done. I wish I had more positive news. But it's part of why I've not been as active art wise until recently. I know there's avenues like patreon but doing art exclusively is a massive financial risk for me and I can't afford it.
