He seems very skilled at two things: 1) making things that are hard to make, 2) hyping up the future of those things. As far as his beliefs, he should stick to making stuff and leave politics to less dysfunctional people.

The #HomeEnergyChoiceAct just passed in California! It generates new home electrification incentives while reducing utility bills by avoiding unnecessary & unwanted gas line replacements, with no mandates or safety compromises. Thank you @asmmarcberman.bsky.social! earthjustice.org/press/2026/c...

California Legislature Passes the Home Energy Choice Act
AB 2313 will give Californians the freedom and funds for non-polluting appliances with money that would otherwise be spent replacing gas service lines

I suppose the closed, sustainable, loop is: 1) extract oil, 2) refine it, 3) burn it, 4) capture the CO2 from the atmosphere using DAC, 5) make synthetic hydrocarbons from CO2 & H2O, 6) go back to step 3. That's 'gotta be costly.

I think most people can’t act more than a few years ahead, and also need to see a clear personal benefit. What decision could a person make today that wouldn’t be too painful for them and would mostly stop all climate change within 8 years? That’s the mindset.

if you can’t replace your stove, you can get a great little induction hot plate for about $100 mine handles all my pasta, soup, anything that needs boiling or simmering. boils faster than gas, holds a perfect simmer reducing gas use helps even if you can’t quit it

Yeah, there would need to be a cap. Or, perhaps, not a completely flat fee. Add just enough of a volumetric rate to curb excesses but still put electrification on steroids.

Discuss: Residential customers should be charged a flat fee for electrical service based upon their climate zone and the square footage of their house. Edge cases can be handled with a cap and additional charges, but the base fee should be set to cover the usage of most fully-electric houses.
