I'm drawing again! A couple of pages of sketching this month's pose challenge from @trueref.bsky.social and a page of planning for #Mörktober because I found the prompt list inspiring... As a composite image. I'll probably get the ol' digital tablet out for that and create something fun day by day

I'd not picked up a pen in weeks, and the pose was tricky. I'll not apologise for my inability to 'get' it. My skills aren't up to it right now. Trying is learning.

I'm quite enjoying the idea that some of the prompts will be major set-pieces and others will be details and non-sequiturs that can go more or less anywhere. Ear? I can just draw something that has ears. But I might find one grows on a tree or a crab or a foot just because.

Tonight, we chilled out. No moving, no cleaning, no deadline. No unpacking to make life bearable. We had dinner, we hung out, listened to music, watched TV, cuddled the cat. It felt like our first proper night at home together in our new place and it's been just wonderful. 5/5 would do again.

My new place has two showers and neither needs a curtain so it's au revoir to Hokusai's Godzilla... A sad goodbye. I hope the next tenants enjoy it.

There was a Roman villa very near where I live now. It was discovered in the 1890s when the village it was then was being expanded and the finds are mostly in the Bristol Museum, although some of the floor they found is in Lawrence Weston on display along with the villa that was found there.

I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.

Sure. I now have an appliance that claims to use AI. And my phone has predictive text. There's inevitable AI and then there choosing to utilise an ecologically and ethically corrupt product to circumvent creative work that improves the skills of the people doing it. Circumvent. Not shortcut.

It's often still a surprise to me when I have to sleep/rest instead of doing things I want to do. My pc was finally out together yesterday (it took me all day to swap cases. I can pc build?) and I have a day off today during which I would like to game. But I'm in bed after breakfast. 🥱

In the process of moving, my PC got bonked. The case was damaged, including the power switch, so Matt being a delight (and feeling responsible) bought me a new case. Which is very shiny, but has leads that do not attach to my motherboard. I was being so brave, swapping the case myself. 😬

He still isn't sure what is going on sometimes, and find night times tricky. But he also can settle quite nicely, considering he will have been here for only 1 week tomorrow.

Good morning bskeebers! Slowly getting used to the new place. Its noises and whatnot so it was a long night, but I got some sleep at least. I now go on holiday until Sunday, while Matt and my stepdad do the Big Stuff In A Van. The view from my sofa right now:

The "balcony" doors with a delightful amount of green beyond from a strip of mature trees lining the main road.

Being on a main road, this is the most 'city' any of my places have ever been. Constant, busy road noise is a feature that reminds me of staying with my grandparents in Thamesmead back in the day.

And that's why I'm grateful for the greenery at least.
