We played Gunsen The Battle for Toshi Ranbo last night This was the site of Brendan's downfall His lab of re-rolls cost him the battle, which allowed me to win by controlling Toshi Ranbo It was another fun game of this quick playing area control game

Benji and I just played back to back games of Innovation by @asmadigames.bsky.social I love this game so much! I took the 1st game, just a base game battle Then he took the 2nd when we threw in the Cities expansion It's just stuff a fun, chaotic card game with wild swings

Brendo taught us Discordia tonight It's a unique euro where you're trying to get rid of your workers first You draft dice to trigger actions to build a setup so you can get rid of them faster Interesting, but probably better at 3 than 4 due to down time

We tried out The Game Makers last night It has some interesting timing vibes and tons of fancy bits I only built one type of board games the whole time and built a machine to help with it and I won by 10 It's a solid one but also nothing mind blowing

Benji's soccer team won the Gold Cup at Provincials this morning So proud of my son and his team! They came into the tournament ranked 8th of 8 teams, beat the #1 seed in their first game, and won the cup today in the 10th round of penalty kicks It was quite an amazing week!

We're trying out Revenant, the new worker placement semi coop game set in the Voidfall world So many icons and so much going on But it's pretty solid so far Sort of has a stock element because you gain influence with different houses that score you points at the end of the game

I taught the guys Flock! and Birds on Birds by @rosegauntlet.bsky.social & @allplay.bsky.social today at lunch Birds on Birds went over great! The slightly slippery wood pieces are great for a dexterity game But Flock was a bit of a flop. It feels like it's missing something to make it interesting

Benji and I played our first game of Baseball Card GM You make teams using real baseball cards and then roll dice to play a full 9 inning game It's random and silly, but also a fun way to use existing cards I also pulled out the 3-2 win with a sketchy Edwin Diaz save in the 9th

We had a great 2v2 battle of this that we wrapped today at lunch Washington and Rosie got knocked out first Wyatt Earp ran out of cards and had John Henry down to 1 hp when they were knocked out due to card draw damage Such a close one!
