I'm getting out my kamairicha this morning, I had previously been worried that I needed to drink my shincha as fast as possible so it wouldn't oxidize but it turns out that it's well over the two month deadline and I can't fucking tell the difference in the tea, it's still delicious.

Starting with a long jing today, that's dragonwell for y'all anglophones. I tried a stunning long jing this weekend, easily the highest grade long jing I've ever had, so I was concerned with how Verdant's would compare. It's a step down but not a huge one so that's okay.

Ordered more tea from Yunnan Sourcing. I wanted to wait until I had finished the golden needle from Adagio so I had a solid reason to restock there, but I'm nowhere close to drinking my way through it. I'm not complaining, just - the stuff Yunnan Sourcing has is better than Adagio's.

This past week I watched 9 to 5. I used to love this movie as a kid but I haven't seen it since the 80s. I don't know that it's a wildly different movie now, but as a kid I definitely didn't clock that it was a socialist movie, I just saw ladies getting much needed justice.

I have found a Chinese to English translation app which will translate and gloss a page at a time. This means I can read books that don't necessarily have a side-by-side translation, which is basically the most exciting thing to happen to me since finding Imagin8 Press.

Tea sample today, purple dahlia shou pu’er from TeaSource. Smells of nothing particular, honestly. First steeping is mild with a faint floral note. Second steeping is enough to tell that this isn’t the tea for me, I think I’m just not much on pu’er.

This afternoon I'm drinking Simao spring tips pure bud dian hong and oh wow, this is great. Chocolaty, malty, faint light fruit flavor that's hard to identify more specifically. I'm on the fifth steeping and it's gotten more mellow as I've progressed. The dark flavors aren't too sharp. #tea

Trying a lu'an gua pian sample from Umi. K and I weren't into the fruit tea sample from them at all, but this is actually great. I steeped 1.5g in my glass gaiwan and found that this was perfect. I love the nutty and marshmallow notes. #tea

Today I'm drinking imperial golden needle, which is another from Yunnan Sourcing's dian hong sampler. I absolutely love golden needle, it's one of my all time favorite teas, and this is really nice golden needle. It's chocolaty and nutty with some mild fruit notes. #tea

I've been experimenting with iced tea, by which I mean I got a pitcher with a decent filter, put 20g of sencha into it and two liters of water, put it in the fridge overnight, drank it through the day yesterday, then put in more water to resteep overnight last night. #tea
