Finally finished the 079 Mobile Suit Gundam series and I well and truly know what the fuss is about now. It’s a show about the horror and pointlessness of war delivered via the medium of awesome giant robots, with literal decades of legacy that can’t be matched. On to Zeta Gundam now I think!

Visited a Victorian-era (1883) steam pumping station in action today. The two pumps are 4 stories tall and being in there is like being in a beating heart and a cathedral all at once. Warm, ornate, and comfortingly noisy at the same time. It’s powered by 6 of those furnaces #photography

My favourite thing about watching the original Mobile Suit Gundam is the humanisation of the Zeon forces. Even the grunts have their own personalities and commanders care about the rank and file. Really emphasises how shit the war is

My latest Idoneth mini and the only one I’ve managed to get to stick to the flying stand with plastic glue. Colour scheme for this one is based on the IRL eel “red eel” Had fun converting the spear slung across the saddle because it bothered me that it was shell or nowt #minipainting #ageofsigmar

I’ve finally seen Project Hail Mary and it’s definitely worth the hype. It’s been so long since a blockbuster release had me laugh, cry, and had me glued to the screen like this. I love the science, the set-up, and how Grace ended up where he is (and why that’s really the best thing for him) 10/10

More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. Finished another Morrsarr Guard for my #ageofsigmar Idoneth. This one is based on the Ribbon Eel and looks really striking I feel! It’s a good pose and a good kit and I love the little baby one on the base (from one of the Namarti kits). Nearly finished my second unit of them now! #modelpainting

Cancelling this show is a missed opportunity to do something new in Star Wars. It had its issues but the choreo, acting, and new ways of showing the Jedi and the force were valuable additions to the universe. Not to mention giving us a charismatic and compelling new villain with a great reveal!!!

It’s always nice to hear a British accent in a dubbed anime but it’s usually posh southerners, so I was absolutely floored to hear one that sounds native to the north of England in the Witch Hat Atelier dub. Turns out the VA is actually American but he sounds so good I was actually convinced lol
