Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 1hWhich is even more worrying since I work from home with just Mary the cat. 010
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 4hI used my headphones yesterday. Today I went into my bag, which was standing on the floor of my office and found these inside the bag. No droppings, no other sign, but this is a mouse's doing isn't it? 210
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 10hBut it's ok, they're all funded by reducing that unending pot of mysterious spare "overseas aid". I love "overseas aid". It turns out that we have been wasting £trillions on it that can always be sacrificed for fun stuff that makes good headlines in the Express. 010
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 10hAnd a waste of money. Unless the emphasis is on "new" as in "to replace older ones" 010
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 16hProbably a big spider. I don't mind spiders tbh, just wish the biggies wore slippers rather than crampons. 110
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 16hNaturally I blog this supernatural experience here. Other half says "Are you putting this online? Writing an essay to your followers? Making it seem like you were brave?" 120
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 16hAdmittedly, the second time I heard it. Like a scrunched carrier bag slowly unfurling. Still nowt - and room is largely emptied of furniture now. There is nothing here to make a noise. But can I sleep? 110
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 16h1. Woken by other half hearing "a noise" 2. Spring into action to fight intruder. 3. Informed the noise is "on the floor" (ie, small animal). Ah.... 4. Lights. Hesitant action. Moving and checking furniture. 5. Nowt. Back to bed. Aaaaaand goto step 1 5. Drift off and. 110
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 23hJust googled and it seems that it was inaugurated in... 2024! One hopes the acoustics are good. 110
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 23hLove this track - but recently came across the up-tempo Earl Scruggs Revue version which is well worth a listen. Can't fail to raise spirits. 000
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 02/10/2026Oooohh I can't wait to see the foaming idiots defending him on local socials. Let me guess - hilarious jokes about "he'd have got bail if he was in Gloucs" 000

Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 01/10/2026Lycée students can't do their riots in the usual summer rioting season due to hols, so we have to wait for La Rentrée Scolaire for their turn 100
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 01/10/2026"tyke" to my ears sounds worryingly wessie.... (Yes, happy to foment North Vs West* sectarianism) ((*We're all agreed that South Yorkshire isn't real, right?)) 110
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 01/10/2026If it's any consolation I think this map has been debunked a few times over the years. (And everyone in Gloucestershire now knows the words "FKA Twigs" even if they don't know what sounds one makes.) 010
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 01/10/2026I notice he doesn't have The Shoes. Is he not Daddy's Favorite Soldier? 020

Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 01/10/2026I'm pretty certain that there aren't any Redcoats or Communists, and vanishingly few Islamists for that matter, that actually give a shit about Heggers, let alone scrapping with the twit. 000
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 01/10/2026"Short film about killing" naturally - that's a Freudian slip due to news innit? 000
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 01/10/2026Like I daresay others have already done, I would post the Buster Scruggs "first time?" gif, but the whole story is frankly too ghoulish. Stupid country. May have to go watch Kieslowski's "Short Film About Dying" later. 100
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 01/10/2026To be fair that dog, Prince, did go on to work for The Sun and had a byline on the Freddie Starr Ate My Hamster story (which, as you will know, came about because Freddie's girlfriend refused to make him an sausage sandwich). 010
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 30/09/2026Always wary of the "we", perennial outsider that I am. I've lived here for 15 years, but am undeniably southern-raised myself. 110
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 30/09/2026No idea. Kingston Upon Hull Telecom? That said, even a decade ago when I lived "up in' moors" we had community rural wifi across the dale - with better reliabilty and speed than my office in Manchester. So, maybe we do do it well. 110
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 30/09/2026Back on the very busy, first off-peak train north from that London. One person with his feet on seats. You'll never guess which godforsaken town he is stopping at.... 100
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 30/09/2026Been with Plusnet and am moving house. When I phoned them to change they answered (as they say on the call) with a call centre in Sheffield and someone who is a real human and who was really friendly. That sold the renewal for me. 230

Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 30/09/2026Not saying it is burned in my mind, but there is a continuity error in that scene as she changes sides too. 110
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 30/09/2026Let's not forget the Radio4 precursor "On The Hour" "Such is politics!" 410
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 29/09/2026I was listening to a Transportation podcast the other day (yes, I know) which was talking about unintended consequences of the Manchester developments. One was that it actually reduced even public transport as it suddenly became possible to just walk everywhere. Of course the NIMBYs will hate this. 111
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 29/09/2026One grandmother had very smooth hands I'll have you know. Don't know about the other one as we sadly never did country dancing together, but she lived in a council house. 020
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 29/09/2026Meanwhile their opponents think nothing about engaging in breathtaking levels of corruption, safe in the knowledge that the news cycle will do most of the heavy lifting in burying it until the next scandal comes along to amuse the papers for a few days. Tl;dr: Rip the fucking plaster off! 010
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 29/09/2026> be me > submits article outline to FT: "Despite the flats crisis in London why the Young People of Today will never get on housing ladder as they swap smashed avocado for handcream and juice" 150
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 29/09/2026I'm jealous. But perhaps I could do this. I'd probably need to go for a run though. 100
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 29/09/2026That's one way around it. There is a Neidle-esque school of tax thought where the playing field for levying tax is very flat, but (where there is need) state support for various sectors is provided after the event. It helps stop tax shenanigans. 030
Rob Blundell @blundell.eu · 28/09/2026It's not yet a matter of "encouragement" but rather that farm machinery isn't yet mass ready. To have the power output of a standard tractor you need either frequent battery changes or fast charging. The latter is not yet workable in remote areas without connection. 110
