Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not

A fabricated statement from Nintendo of America's Twitter account addressing a fictitious scenario in which the Earth's oxygen supply is presumed to be depleting at a rapid pace, leaving humanity with mere days to live.

"This is Miyamoto. On behalf of everyone who is employed at Nintendo Co. LTD and its subsidiaries, we deeply mourn the countless human lives which will be lost due to the depletion of the global oxygen supply. To anyone who has ever played one of our games, we are eternally grateful to have created long-lasting fun and memories for you. To ease the suffering of families and children across the world, the Mario Kart World game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system will be available as a free download on Nintendo eShop for the foreseeable future. We hope this small gesture of kindness will ease the pain as humanity prepares for a worst-case scenario."

The statement is distastefully plastered with logos for Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as with a render of Mario from Mario Kart World.

A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement.

PlayStation Nation: "What the fuck are you doing falsely advertising sales during these trying times? I went to the website and Mario Kart World is still selling for $80 USD."

Kremling Kevin: "If you actually read the statement, it clearly says the discount is available on Nintendo eShop. Meaning the application on the Switch 2 itself, not the web browser version."

PlayStation Nation: "Point still stands."

A fabricated Tweet responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement.

Isaboner: "Nothing for Switch 1 owners?"

"You've never been alone." throwback to this gorgeous beach shoot in Wales last year because I have Spiritfarer on the brain again (I literally have not played since before these were taken) 📸: @bluexshift.bsky.social #spiritfarer #cosplay @thunderlotus.bsky.social

A waist up photo of a Stella cosplayer from Spiritfarer. They're stood on a beach, with their back facing the camera, and they're looking up slightly so you can see the star shape of their hat

A close up, front facing photo of the Stella cosplayer stretching one hand up towards the sky and looking upwards towards it, similar to the lightning in a jar pose from the game.

A photo of the Stella cosplayer sitting on a rock, with their hands in their lap, smiling slightly. There are grassy hills visible in the background.

Stella is still sat on the rocks, but this photo is taken from behind showing the star shape of the hat and the sandy beach in the background

Introduction time! Hello I'm Simon a hobbyist Photographer based in the UK. I'm mainly a portraits man but do occasionally dabble in other mediums too. I have a particular fondness for the geekier side of portraits being a massive comic book geek & am often working some amazing cosplayers.

A fawn faerun cosplayer holds a small bone offering it to the viewer.

A cosplayer portraying the character of Vi from Arcane looks menacingly towards the viewer. Their fists wrapped in bandages are pushed together.

A cosplayer portraying the character of Fjord from Critical Role stares out to the sea. His sword is buried in the sand and an eye stares from its hilt towards the viewer.

A cosplayer portraying the character of Link from the Legend of Zelda stars at a fairy light whilst using a slate.

"A fire can keep you warm... or consume you." I joined this app today - any cosplayers or critters about? 😅 Photo by ameliacarvellphotography (on Instagram) Caleb Widogast cosplayer is me

A photo of a young white person cosplaying Caleb Widogast from Critical Role. They stand holding a book open and raised in one hand, the other hand also raised and covered in bandages. They have a serious expression on their face as they are being showered with many orange sparks.

The same image as before but cropped in - we can see the person more clearly now. They were a dirty torn brown coat, a tattered blue scarf, and have shoulder length unkempt ginger brown hair. Their face is smeared with dark soot across the nose, and their eyes are unnaturally orange, reflecting fire in them.
