Yup - that’s exactly what I said. Brexit used to be about the EU versus tales of ‘freedom’. Brexit happened and failed. Now Brexit has taken a desperate final form - Trump. In him Brexiteers see salvation of their dead project. But at least it’s now clear. The UK must choose Trump or the EU.
My quotes in the FT — in short, the UK is now going to enter a messy tug-of-love between the US and EU.

Sigh - classic fact free nonsense. ‘news’ story here totally fails to mention that Tory plans were for fines of £5k (later reduced to £3k) for each missed heat pump sale. What @Ed_Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”

There is no “oven ready” trade deal with the US waiting to be signed - in fact, given the recent history of “oven ready” deals in the UK, you should be extra weary of anyone claiming that such a thing exists.

Turns out that not vaccinating your kids has consequences, and not just for your kids either. “The outbreak is the largest the province has seen in more than 30 years, with more than 80 per cent of the cases diagnosed in people under the age of 19”

Appreciate this may not be a universally popular opinion but the less you treat BlueSky as a crusade or cause, and the more you position it as simply a superior user experience with a better governance approach, the more sustainable the growth will be.

#r4today already getting it wrong in its coverage from Turkey: 1) Turkey has never been "welcoming" to refugees. The EU paid it, a lot, to prevent people reaching its borders, and Turkey has been shown to repeatedly abuse them. 2) Refugees are not "illegal". Nothing about what they do is illegal.

Brexit was based on four assumptions: 1. It would cause the EU to collapse. 2. We'd get all the benefits of the SM without having to follow the rules. 3. We'd get a great trade deal with the US. 4. There would be a painless solution to the NI problem. It’s 2024 and none of these has happened.

Musk’s own AI identifies him as a major dissemination of misinformation online
An article from Fortune magazine says that Elon Musk’s AI labels him “one of the most significant spreaders of misinformation on X”
Grok was asked who spreads the most misinformation on X and it did not hesitate to name its own creator "Based on various analyses, social media sentiment, and reports, Elon Musk has been identified as one of the most significant spreaders of misinformation on X since he acquired the platform," it wrote, later adding
"Musk has made numerous posts that have been criticized for promoting or endorsing misinformation, especially related to political events, elections, health issues like COVID-19, and conspiracy theories. His endorsements or interactions with content from controversial figures or accounts with a history of spreading misinformation have also contributed to this perception."

Imagine sitting down for a drink or a meal with people whose company you enjoyed & being told by management that half of the table would be now occupied by people who just wanted to shout ‘C**t’ at you. The exodus has absolutely nothing to do with ‘opinions’. Media reports must reflect this more.
