This is the most depressing thing I've read today. We're on our own, friends.

I've been in such a good mood ever since Tuesday night. Now Chuck Schumer is sabotaging every bit of leverage we'd accrued. I hate it when people say they don't vote because it makes no difference and both parties are bad, but my god, do you have to give them justification?

It's so interesting that when the Iraq war started, non-Muslim Americans criticized Islam by saying that it subjugates women, but now women's subjugation is treated as unquestionably Christian.

Aimed at a Jewish audience, but worth reading for those meeting opposition from Christians who believe we must support the government of Israel for theological reasons. If a Jewish Rabbi can’t persuade you, who can?

Christianity is fundamentally anti-imperial. I don't recognize it in Mike Johnson. Or MAGA.

I get that it's a marathon, not a sprint, but the extent of the damage that's being done real quick while we laboriously call our (oblivious) reps, record individual ICE raids, and scrabble in the sofa cushions for money to send refugees--it's horrendous.

Time to use Amazon like they used to use brick-and-mortar book stores!
Find a cool product on Amazon?

That company exists OFF Amazon, too.

1. Google company name
2. Order from their site
2a. Can usually find a 10% code!
3. Can still get product in 2 - 8 days.
4. Company avoids losing 25% margin share to Amazon.
5. You avoid giving money to Bezos.

1/ OK, Democratic members of Congress in the US Senate. It’s time for some tough love. I am aware your pollsters and consultants tell you things like “the American people want us to work together” and “ focus on prescription drug prices in the economy.”

www.theguardian.com/environment/... I’ve been thinking that we were maybe experiencing civilizational collapse, and here’s this article. I really, really think the only way to cope is by being kind and generous.

‘We need dramatic social and technological changes’: is societal collapse inevitable?
Academic Danilo Brozović says studies of failed civilisations all point in one direction – today’s society needs radical transformation to survive

I don't have any followers so probably no one will read this. But. Our democracy is dying (slowly, then all at once) because of money in politics. It's so expensive to run for office that politicians depend on oligarchs.
