There are often discussions about what mics podficcers use, but the responses vary widely depending. So, out of curiosity, I put together a mini-survery for the #podfic stats ✨ form: airtable.com/appU84aXDcIM... results: airtable.com/appU84aXDcIM... more info: podficmeta.dreamwidth.org/29681.html

I saw this post quote reposted yesterday and then had to laugh when the episode of the drama I was watching had the characters standing so close together 😂 (More properly referencing the second post in the quoted thread, it is of course on purpose, but still funny!)

A screenshot of part 4 of episode 7 of Hidden Agenda, a 2023 Thai Y Series/BL drama by GMMTV starring Joong and Dunk. Onscreen, Joke and Zo are at the hospital after Zo saw the doctor for stress and overwork related symptoms, and the two standing way too close together while talking despite the very wide angle of the shot. The subtitle reads “Let’s move.” (Joke is talking.)

Out of curiosity (with archive.org temp. inaccessible) here’s a poll on where people host their #podfic Poll: www.tumblr.com/mistbornhero... Info post on Dreamwidth: amplificathon.dreamwidth.org/3265857.html If you don’t have Tumblr but want to be counted for stats, ping @mistbornhero.bsky.social

Text: Where do you host your podfic? A poll.
The image is a retro synth wave background with jagged mountains resembling sound waves, a magenta moon, and grid-lined landscape. There’s are a cerulean microphone icon and playlist icon, and the text is framed by a magenta speech bubble.

Bluesky popped up with this message and I’m just laughing because I was so grudging about it 😂 (also I signed up for the waiting list out of idle curiosity way back and only got the actual invite from that at least a month or two after joining)

Small Web September is another progress/encouraging activity event. link to info post: smallweb.dreamwidth.org/2335.html tag: smallweb.dreamwidth.org/tag/small+we...

What is Small Web September?

Small Web September (is it too early for an abbreviation? Feel free to use SWS for short xD) is a chill, friendly and open event for anyone who'd like to make progress on their small web project(s) to join and share ideas, trade tips, and post progress. A small web project can be anything from a personal site/indie archive or shrine to a webring or directory, a list of resources you wanted to create, a coding how-to, maybe a set of icons or badges - the sky's the limit! As long as it's small web-related (by the definition helpfully offered in our comm intro post), it's suitable and we'd love you to join and work on it during SWS.

It’s not exactly the same as nanowrimo (different timeframe, more expansive of activities) but the main round of Communal Creators is open for sign ups: communal-creators.dreamwidth.org/400.html There’s a Dreamwidth community & a Discord server.

Welcome to Communal Creators, a place to band together to help each other start, work on, or finish a project in September and October. Why those months? Because while National Novel Writing Month in November made sense, once upon a time, it is a very inconvenient time to many people. Backing the timeline out to after school starts but before the push of the holidays for many was my intention.

Timeline will be that the official creation period will run from September 15th to October 15th. You CAN use projects that existed before this point, but only log the effort that goes into it during the creation period. You may also double-dip -- use this time to finish, begin, work on things for other events!

What are acceptable creations? ANYTHING.

I think it used to work because I have an eBay account created several years ago with a user.name@gmail account (instead of my actual username@gmail account) and I do get emails still from eBay, but I tried the . method a few years ago for something else and it didn’t, so all in all very confusing

Since I’ve been listening to ambient, instrumental yak and psychedelic

First three songs:

Welcome baba mouse & sister mouse. (A little awkward because I was trying to figure out a reason to show off baba mouse’s tattoos so I guess he’s pulling on a shirt?)

Looking through the window, baba mouse is pulling in a shirt so we can see part of his back tattoo of an octopus, dad mouse is sitting on the floor by baby mouse in the baby seat, and sister mouse is standing in the doorway.

View from the other side, behind sister mouse in the doorway. We can see dad mouse sitting on the floor by baby mouse in the baby seat, the rainbow rug, and baba mouse pulling on his shirt as he leans against the bed.

Okay but cycling back to this still shot from the forthcoming Exhuma, I still can’t get over the vibes. Big sis and squishy little bro. ♡ Feeling very intense about this as a platonic ship for some reason!! (No clue about the character relations in the actual plot; I guess I should go look that up.)

Lee Dohyun and Kim Goeun in a still from the movie Exhuma. Lee Dohyun is wearing the iconic over-ear headphones and a shirt with rolled up sleeves that reveals writing up his arms and you can also see writing on his chest through the open collar of his shirt. His hair is tied up in a small knot. He’s sleeping, face squished into the back of one hand. Kim Goeun is looking out the window, holding a wine glass, gaze set and almost stern. They’re sitting side by side in an airplane, maybe? Both wearing tailored, dark shirts.

I’m still not entirely sure what Citrus Con is all about, but it’s an online fannish convention in August, I missed the first one, & early bird free tickets are only available for 2 more days: citruscon.tumblr.com/post/7408865... Site: citruscon.com Tumblr description is (screenshot with alt text)

Citrus Con is a virtual 18 convention dedicated to BL/queer media, shipping, fan works, and honoring how fan culture has grown in the past two decades.
As our name is a nod to the classic citrus rating scale, we wanted to create a space where older and newer fans all felt welcome.

A day late so I could also use it for “make me (crack) ship it!” as the prompt was too perfect ♡ Teen Wolf/Twilight (Sheriff Stilinski & Charlie Swan) #3sentencefic Also I think the reunion idea is thanks to @drainbamage954.bsky.social (if I’m not misremembering?)

an old friend

Too many thoughts are swirling through his head as Noah pushes through the door of the bar after a long day at the regional enforcement convention; he’s worried about so many things, but Stiles is chief among them, and Noah wishes he could somehow just get him away for a while, or something.

He’s so preoccupied that he doesn’t even notice the person next to him at the bar until the bartender slides his drink a little too far and his neighbour snags it by the handle; Noah thanks him out of habit, glancing up as he accepts the glass, and then does a double-take.

“Charlie?”

Fandom: Sam and Dave Dig a Hole (And, on theme, I almost ran out of time too!) #3sentencefic

“I’m thirsty,” Sam says, dusty hand smearing the sweat across his forehead into streaky mud. Dave looks down at their shovels (dinged), the sky (hidden from view beyond too many twists and turns), and the guttering lamp at their feet, and ignores his stomach (cavernous), his throat (desert-dry and getting dryer), and his feet (aching and tired).

“I’m sure we’ll find something spectacular any minute,” he says, shouldering on (even though at this point the most spectacular thing might be a way out again).

All Souls Day is practically Halloween which still counts as October, right? Also, I couldn’t fit this in a single post, so I’m probably stretching the definition of a sentence 😅 #3sentencefic

“Again…” Euijoo sighs, staring at the gash his knife has made across the face of the pumpkin he’s carving for the ridiculous Halloween-themed challenge video. Next to him, there’s a sudden crash, and muffled words obscuring the Japanese he can’t quite catch; Euijoo looks over and has to bite back a grin.
“Fuma-kun,” he says, eyes sliding from the smashed pumpkin remains spread over the ground to Fuma’s flustered expression, “I guess I’m not the worst at cutting vegetables this time.”

Okay, not too bad for a first try. (I didn’t have any kind of thing-to-mark-fabric-while-sewing-that-comes-off-easy so I used some old crayons markers the make the grid…they say washable, right? 😂

My jeans with a patch over the left knee. It’s an attempt at a sashiko-inspired flower stitch pattern in light brown over the faded blue denim. A visible dot grid of teal marker dots can be seen through the flower pattern.

This is very pointless but I’m kind of pleased by the way the app icons in the social folder look/the colours ♡

The social app folder in the app gallery on iOS, displayed are discord (the cherry blossoms icon), toot! (the trans flag icon) and bluesky (blue sky with clouds). Smaller are Twitter (still blue with a bird, not updated!), Tumblr (the current icon is the purple one with the pink-gold metallic t), line (green) and KakaoTalk (the blue sky with clouds icon).

Yes, I do massage the list by turning some off in search!
