@katproto.girlonthemoon.xyz I saw you mention graze (on the my pds feed; this pds is so great!! 💕) and was just wondering - have you had good luck with it? I tried to use it twice but it just doesn’t do anything at all (won’t even load a preview) so I was wondering if I’m missing something obvious 😭

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 08/08/2025

Looking at the list of non-fic books I've read this year, I'm feeling very amused, because my 62 books so far reads like my own little "one of these things is not like the others" game. 😂

…in the five months since I posted that, I have ✨acquired✨ five more domains. All for very good reasons, I insist!

Embarrassingly, I don’t have the best track record with completing bingos 😅 but this looks really neat!

Full bingo! (I feel like I ran a marathon 😂)

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 18/12/2024

The kind of poor choices mood where you emerge from a (not-really) fugue state an hour or two later with two new domains. …if I post about it, I won’t actually do it, right?

I just realized that the first time I participated was ten years ago 👀 Anyway, a really fun kpop fic writing challenge/event with teams and mv fun 💕 and an interesting answer to “what are some different ways that that the same prompt can be interpreted?”

Labellers on Bluesky have a wide variety of uses! (Well outside the default/assumed ones.) If you have a GitHub account already or might consider creating one (do you save or share workskins? fannish scripts? some people even host podfic 👀) look into the issue linked here and consider upvoting it!

Spotify Wrapped acquired, vinyl LP of my top-listened track (well, its album, technically) purchased! This is a two-year streak now; hopefully next year will work out too🤞 (both years so far the vinyl has been out of print but available from secondary sellers)

There are often discussions about what mics podficcers use, but the responses vary widely depending. So, out of curiosity, I put together a mini-survery for the #podfic stats ✨ form: airtable.com/appU84aXDcIM... results: airtable.com/appU84aXDcIM... more info: podficmeta.dreamwidth.org/29681.html

You know how sometimes you read the perfect eldritch horror that just makes you all warm and happy inside, full at awe at the cosmic horror of the universe, and comforted by the realization that nothing actually makes sense at all? Or maybe that’s just me.

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 20/11/2024

I have to say that I still do this (intentionally now) and though it’s not a big thing, it definitely makes things a little bit better every single day.

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 20/11/2024

So I definitely had MEOVV Toxic on loop for at least half the day yesterday. There’s a lot I like about it on many levels but the way the first pre chorus has the line “hell is not the same without you” when you’re expecting “heaven” is just (clenches fist to chest) so good.

While it's obvious, it's sometimes hard for me to remember that even though I think a lot about kpop (for over 15 years! exo my first online fandom!), and anime/manga (cough, Hyouka and GOTH) and dramas (watching Thai ones mostly at the moment) and novels (still reading a bunch of mdzs fic/podfic

Wow, I love learning via importing old posts that the Google link shortener is going to purposefully break all links in summer 2025. Another good reason to not use shorteners; another thing you can’t control in the breakage train. developers.googleblog.com/en/google-ur...

Excellent point! (Especially with the shorter timeline.)

@voiceteam.bsky.social would you maybe consider bridging this account so I can share this promo post on mastodon? (To bridge, just follow @ap.brid.gy - more details at fed.brid.gy/docs) If you’d prefer not to though, I understand. Thanks!

I was watching Red Velvet’s Cosmic MV again (as one does) and realized that it would probably make a really great song for a 23.5 vid. It’s just that the mv is so scary/creepy (in a delightful way of course) that it brings out the ominous nature of the song, but at face value it’s pretty sweet?

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 13/11/2024

The profile character limit is too short here! But anyway, I’ve disabled bridging because I have separate Mastodon & Bluesky accounts, so hopefully just linking to my Mastodon account in my profile here is enough info (because there isn’t space for more).

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 12/11/2024

Is there a way to mute phrases? The ui seems to imply that it’s single word or tag muting, but there are some phrases made of two or more otherwise innocuous words that I don’t want to mute by themselves.

Regex predicament: I’d really like to add itpe to the podfic feed, but i don’t know how to specify that the string should just be itpe, not part of a word/url (because it’s surprisingly a problem)

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 10/11/2024

since I couldn't find one, and with some helpful advice, here's a feed featuring talking about #podfic bsky.app/profile/did:...

Back at the start I preferred notepad on desktop & plaintext editors on mobile (iA writer still the goat for having actual html preview!!) but Scrivener having full projects & allowing me to sync them between desktop and mobile won me over, despite still being a bit annoying writing in html there.

I saw this post quote reposted yesterday and then had to laugh when the episode of the drama I was watching had the characters standing so close together 😂 (More properly referencing the second post in the quoted thread, it is of course on purpose, but still funny!)

A screenshot of part 4 of episode 7 of Hidden Agenda, a 2023 Thai Y Series/BL drama by GMMTV starring Joong and Dunk. Onscreen, Joke and Zo are at the hospital after Zo saw the doctor for stress and overwork related symptoms, and the two standing way too close together while talking despite the very wide angle of the shot. The subtitle reads “Let’s move.” (Joke is talking.)

That mysterious feeling when you’re looking through your works for a podfic you have in mind, and discover that you made a podfic this year for a story you wrote three years ago and you don’t remember either of them.

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 23/10/2024

At work when sleepy I listen to lighter metal/rock-ish whatever (what are genres even? It’s different from the neo-classical I usually listen to) in strictly not-English/French/German/Spanish so I don’t get distracted by the lyrics, but now the Finnish syllables are getting mighty familiar… 😂

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 22/10/2024

It’s funny that I do consider myself a fic writer, but when I think about what I’ve written lately, it’s: - a LoveSick 2024 drabble - tiny updates of a GOTH & Stoker crossover for @shiritori.bsky.social - ofic for a fannish anthology (& destined for CCPA 2025) What fandom do I write? You tell me 😂

Terribl(y cursed?) vid idea: that A Thousand Years song for Triage, where Tol dies over and over to the line “I have died ever day waiting for you”. Add the bits about waiting and it’s perfect. (Also, imagine those lyrics but thrash metal. They have a different taste.)

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 19/10/2024

Pluto started airing!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=dObc... Admittedly I’m in the middle of some other dramas and realized I that I do better waiting for more to be out (I definitely still space out watching, but I have the option to, if that makes sense?) ->

I'm speaking very tongue-in-cheek here, but sometimes I think that people who find metal stressful are just listening to it too loudly. A heartbeat sound can be soothing at low volume, and very stressful at high volume, after all!

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 17/10/2024

Can’t believe* my IEM left ear cable went, and just when it’s a week with lots of bussing. No stereo for me I guess! Thankfully, the cables are replaceable, and I might as well try out the Moondrop Chu 2 while I’m at it (out of curiosity more than anything else).

ice cream @bluedream.ing · 13/10/2024

Out of curiosity (with archive.org temp. inaccessible) here’s a poll on where people host their #podfic Poll: www.tumblr.com/mistbornhero... Info post on Dreamwidth: amplificathon.dreamwidth.org/3265857.html If you don’t have Tumblr but want to be counted for stats, ping @mistbornhero.bsky.social

Text: Where do you host your podfic? A poll.
The image is a retro synth wave background with jagged mountains resembling sound waves, a magenta moon, and grid-lined landscape. There’s are a cerulean microphone icon and playlist icon, and the text is framed by a magenta speech bubble.

Today I learned that there is a Spanish dub of KinnPorsche 👀 I don’t really go for mafia stuff so I bounced off watching and went straight to fic but I really might have to watch it now 😂
