Yeah every hospital group is wildly different in what they charge and they definitely lack transparency and consistency in their billing/coding for different actions. Pricing for Kaiser who takes only their own insurance group vs scripps/ ucdavis/ mercy dignity (as an ex) has crazy variation.

Idk if it was the fact our insurance was good to cover everything or it is a CA state policy to cover all prenatal and birth costs.

Those are low figures for childbirth too - when I had my eldest and my middle kid it was 89-100k for C-section and 60k for NICU for a week /week and a half. My recent /last kid they billed for 120k for an emergency C-section 🫠 and 60k for NICU for three days. People want kids but can’t afford.

with my third i got another c-section which resulted in GD and pre-clampsia in the end. Even tho i didn't spike the entire time until that specific day which was perfect storm situation and this time instead of dithering around with pills i got my tubes yeeted from my body. i am now spayed. me done.

With my son, I switch to Uc Davis health and I made it to term with the only issue being gestational diabetes and ofc decided against an VBAC and a tubal removal to have another csection which was also a great recovery. He was born 4 days before my birthday :)

tldr with my first i had severe antepartum preeclampsia symptoms with swollen limbs/fingers/toes and it resulted in three days of labor in an attempt to have a vaginal birth (it was torture lbr) and a c-section at 3 am. but my recovery was great! i will never go to mercy dignity in sac again.

I wish she got more time to bake essentially and made it to term in october but my body decided -nah- .......better alive than dead right?

So this past week I did a thing~ I had another emergency c-section which resulted in me having my last kid/final kid a month earlier than expected. She is a little underbaked and was in nicu for a bit but that is ok, i a m glad that they caught my preeclampsia early. Im so tired.

More artists need to talk about how sometimes it's ok to take a break, and that it's the evils of capitalism that make you think you have to work yourself to death. Also, if you're not creating for your own happiness then wtf is the point? These are my own opinions i guess.

Personal Talk: How is it on so-med there is an expectation that parents should have their kids reading and basic writing by the age of 2-3 yrs old. But when you try to talk to actual administrative staff at the local school/district they will tell you it isn't developmentally appropriate. 🫠

Usually I'd do ea. dog one at a time so i didn't have to eat a massive cost all at once. But because they have been itching so bad / pulling out their fur to the point of being bald that it was necessary to face tank the damage to my wallet.

But guessed right the bill was 800$ for all three of the dogs and it for oral flea med, antibiotics for dermatitis / special medicated shampoo n shots. + wellness check. Where as my partner guessed it would only be 300$ --- on what planet.
