The original version of this was posted on my FAisDM (felicitousArtisan is Darth Mongoose) Tumblr many years ago. I drew it at about 11pm right before going to bed, trying to express something I felt about art. When I woke up it kinda blew up.

Flowchart drawn by Kate Holden in orange, aliases lines reads:
HOW TO BE ANARTIST.
Make some art.-> Does it look terrible? 1. YEAH 2. NO (both lives lead to thesame conclusion box) -> You are an artist -> Make more art

So this past week I did a thing~ I had another emergency c-section which resulted in me having my last kid/final kid a month earlier than expected. She is a little underbaked and was in nicu for a bit but that is ok, i a m glad that they caught my preeclampsia early. Im so tired.

Pro tip: you don’t have to comm artists to boost and support them. People claim they can’t support artists and creators because they are financially strapped, but they can still boost posts, comment, like, and in general just be supportive! It’s completely free outside of an internet connection ;)

More artists need to talk about how sometimes it's ok to take a break, and that it's the evils of capitalism that make you think you have to work yourself to death. Also, if you're not creating for your own happiness then wtf is the point? These are my own opinions i guess.

Personal Talk: How is it on so-med there is an expectation that parents should have their kids reading and basic writing by the age of 2-3 yrs old. But when you try to talk to actual administrative staff at the local school/district they will tell you it isn't developmentally appropriate. 🫠

Climate change is accelerating beyond all but the most dire predictions but also so many stories about ecology restoration also feature systems bouncing back faster and more thoroughly than scientists anticipated, people can fix (the worst of) this but we need to overthrow the capitalist economy

Working at the 3-d sculpt of my png-tuber's doll/feral? form. 10 million years lata. :skull: - i had to restart it because some how i messed up the shapes and found using 3-4 different mesh shapes was a massive pita. Wishing that make curves/bezier curve would work for me idk why its a hater.

ANYWAYS. thanks for listening to my non-stop vet talking have a flat turn around of my vtuber/png tuber as their doll/feral form of being an inu hariko. I am planning on practicing my 3-d modelling in blender with this. :)! (i already did one pass of a body and it looked........uh questionable)

a sketch turn around of my inu hariko png tuber character named Nya. Inu hariko statues are known to be proectors of children and generally are little dog representations with black head caps, and fun accessories with a white body and face paints.

I'm so tired of seeing people tracing slop and pass it off as their own. Art is not just visual, you have to put an idea, a feeling, your soul into it. Art is a journey that starts at the sketch, and if you skip it, then you are not an artist. Draw, fail, improve, and enjoy the journey!

you know your dad is a pill when they don't even bother asking you if you want your fish tanks back. Instead they either sold them, gave them away or threw them away - pumps/lights and all. Said parent btw doesn't even live in that house/state, its your mother's and they are just 'visiting' ->

Welllllllllll All three of my dogs gotta go to the vet, probably for flea allergies. 8) We have tried legit everything BUT putting them all on a oral flea medication because of Kumo having MRD1 (most herding breed dogs have this genetic anomaly) I am clenching me booty for that big vet bill.

This one reply really struck me

Yoshiyuki Tomino, the anime director famous for Gundam, also emphasized the importance of studying stage plays, literature, and literary arts to cultivate a nuanced understanding of expression and reading comprehension.

That's why it's not uncommon to hear that works created by otaku with narrow knowledge, raised solely on comics, anime, and games, end up lacking any depth.

With alt text. "We built the library. Someone else started charging admission." This is what I hear when someone says, "Don't get left behind." It's more of a Gold Rush than anything else. They mean if you don't make the move to (literally) take advantage of others' work first, someone else will.

Tweet from Suraj Sharma on June 20, 2026.

Bro I'm so sick of pretending this isn't weird.

The internet spent 20 years creating tutorials, open-source projects, blog posts & answers for free.

Al companies turned all of it into products worth billions.

And now the same people who created that knowledge are being told they're replaceable.

We built the library.

Someone else started charging admission.
