been relistening to the KaiserBeamz documentary series on Looney Tunes and I'm reminded of how much the Chuck Jones vs Bob Clampett schtick is that cartoon nerds provoke online. This is the oldest, most tired flamewar in history. They're both flawed people that directed great cartoons. Stop fighting

Chuck made some stinkers into the 60s-80s, was a control freak and didn't like anything made after his tenure no matter what, but he loved and respected his colleagues vs clampetts massive ego and tendency to write over their legacy. Also he inadvertently created spumco fans. So think on that

What if it was all a dream; that the dawn being your enemy was just a nightmare? #art #digitalart #fanart #adultswim #cartoon #illustration

A drawing I made as an inversion of Adult Swim's iconic "The Dawn Is Your Enemy" bumper, with it being "The Dawn Is Your Friend". The sun has its eyes completely shut, there are roses in the front, and birds are flying. There is color in the drawing, which gives more of a gentle comforting vibe; in contrast to the uncanny original bumper's art.

A lot of people's fear starting out is the fear of not being good enough at the start and I will say that making "bad" art is an inevitability for everyone, so you may as well start now and get over that hump because you're using that same amount of time not doing anything.

being so fr when I say that transmisogyny has put feminism back like 50 years

seravph
what i thought we had distanced ourselves from was the reduction of women to vaginas and wombs and the ability to bear children. i thought we had progressed past 'dresses are for women and pants are for men. i thought we progressed past the idea that someone is less of a woman if she does not adhere strictly to beauty standards. i thought we progressed past the idea that naturally being comfortable adhering to highly feminine standards is vulgar. but i (sarcastically) guess no one could have predicted that trans-exclusive feminism would be the downfall of all the progress we've made

I just read through it and from what I could gather, they actually taken in some feedback. For the most part, they're going to implement it to where it doesn't require selfies or ID cards. This isn't something to cause any of y'all to nuke your Discord accounts or go into mass hysteria.

Here's the main points from the site page. This is how Discord is going to implement it. While it sucks they're doing this, they're pretty much covering their asses to get any governments off their backs. The blame should still be put on those stupid ID laws.

TLDR

•More than 90% of you won’t be asked to confirm your age. Since our last post about teen safety, we've had to launch age assurance solutions in more places, including Texas and Brazil. Laws requiring age assurance are expanding around the world. Rather than waiting to be told how to do it, we’re launching our own privacy-preserving approach: one that reflects your feedback.

•You can check your age group status at User Settings > Account Status. We've estimated your age group automatically from account signals like how long your account has existed or the kinds of servers you're a part of. We don’t look at your messages, calls, or other content. We're launching this over the course of this week, so it may take a few days to reach your account.

•If you're in the adult age group (18+), nothing changes. If you're in the teen age group (13-17), you can keep messaging friends, joining voice calls, and participating in non-age-restricted servers, but with additional safety protections that block age-restricted content, spaces, and settings. Otherwise, Discord works the same. More on this below.

•We've added several new ways to confirm your age, including some that don't require an ID or selfie (including credit cards). If you're an adult but weren't automatically placed in the adult age group, you can confirm your age group at any time by going to User Settings > Account Status. More on the new options below.
