I think one message that’s not getting enough play going into midterms is that we’ve slashed social programs, science research, environmental agencies, etc to the BONE and yet our national debt has exploded. How do we have less AND owe more? Where is the upside?

I wish I could sit down with the team leaders at Team Asobo. I’ve now platinumed all three Plague Tale games and they are so close to pushing through to that next level. Just a few tweaks and I really think they would be on par with mid-Uncharted Naughty Dog and I so badly want to see it happen.

Dawn went to take a bath tonight only to find that we had no hot water. She fell asleep about half an hour ago with plans to put in a repair ticket tomorrow morning. With her out cold, I read the instructions and I think I figured it out. It’s now blinking like it should. Did I fix a non-computer?

I’ve never seen a game so intent on having the post-game ruin the experience as Dragon Quest VII Remake. Nearly 20% of the items are locked behind a chance minigame. I was at 36 hours when I finished all other elements. I’m at 54 hours and I just finally unlocked the last thing.

Our Ops Manager brought in a bunch of books for his bookshelf, a pastiche of graphic novels, classic literature, and things like that”History of Hip-Hop,”. I was talking to him & he pulled one off the shelf & said “you’re gonna love this.” It was @mudron.bsky.social ‘s Star Trek TNG coloring book.

A few weeks ago, one of the neighbors at my office had a crate delivery. The side said “Longway Construction” but, because the crate was half in, half out of their loading doors, all that was visible from our back door was “LONG CON” And I wish I had taken a picture. What an apt metaphor.

In Lake Forest, CA, the gas was $6.50 a gallon this morning. $55 got me a little over 8 gallons where it got me almost 12 gallons this time last year. I would love to see a thread where everyone calls out how much they pay at the pump compared to a year ago.

I’m about 2/3 of the way through Mouse PI and I’m not loving it for three reasons. 1) it overstays its welcome by a lot 2) it’s missing major quality of life stuff like the ability to revisit previous locations, select locations off a list, keep track of thing (how many side quests have I completed)

One of my favorite things to do when my wife is on the brink of sleep is kick the edge of the bed once, then bounce my hand up to her so she thinks it’s one of the cats and reaches out to pull them in. She thinks it’s an asshole move. I think it’s a cute way to hold her hand before she drifts off.

I’m sure his heart is in the right place and it’s obvious he has technical skill, but I don’t think Andy Muschietti has any deeper understanding of IT. His choices illustrate that he’s more concerned with scares than in playing into what makes IT scary. It’s like watching season 13 of The Simpsons.

I had fifteen pieces to 3D print for a thing I’m working on. I had a few minor failures but it went relatively smoothly. I’ve been on the last piece for weeks now & it fails to start correctly 90% of the time & has failed twice now 2/3 of the way in & it’s driving me absolutely mad. I. NEED. HELP.

I don’t understand how it’s not a bigger part of the story that the shooter was unidentified and that was seen as “normal” now which is likely a big part of how he got so close. This is exactly the reason we’ve been saying ICE/Police need to be in uniform and properly identified.

My wife has bugged me to do a portrait of us at every place we live based on what we name the place (i.e. our WiFi name). The first place was The Jasmine Dragon after Avatar. The last place was the Pawnee Parks Dept. this new place is Ventek Tower (WiFi is Rust4Life) and I finally did it. Thoughts?
